Personally i use my CA to do AA.
However some CAs (PCAs especially) ale capable of taking on some BB1s (especially at level).
They also can stay behind the lines and shoot at charging ships (FF DD CL and the occasional CA) so that BBs don't have to waste their time.

Other than that... you could try ASW... if someone else can spot subs for you (sonarmen DO NOT work on CA and BB)
Or borderhumping in hopes of getting to some CVs to kill.



Personally i think Blitz is the best place for at level CAs whete thay can act like mini BBs ranging the smaller ships and trying to go toe to toe with the occasional BB1.
The experience should help you in GB once you get out of blitz.

When some one is using a CA must asume that have two main tasks to do:

1 - Provive AA fire to shoort down enemy aircrafts
2 - Take care of small ships rushing (moslty DD´s)

Some brainless poeple, before last events mostly, use CA armed with HH

and what is brainless about putting Prem HH on a PCA??? It is massive fun to scare a BB5 with those HH at close range! Made several 100k or more games like that!

FF/DD/CL - Hunts for subs and scouts around. Engages other FF/DD/CL.

CA engages all of the above. Protects friendly ships which can't defend themselves @ close quarters. Fights other CA's. Useful in AA role.

BC - See CA

BB - Attacks and destroys every enemy in sight. Attacks other BB's first.

CV - Keeps the skies clear of unfriendly planes. Keeps enemies blind by shooting down enemy scout planes. Attacks other CV's and provides air support to allied forces. Attacks from beyond visual range. (For all the BB bums/people in the nelly - scouts with fighters)

SS - Kills high priority targets.
