Popular belief states that Medics are completely useless on BBs and almost useless (now) on CVs, and that seamen (readers will have mouthful pronouncing it in its plural form) are useful on BBs at very high levels and very useful for aviator stats (f, b, t) on CVs starting at an earlier stage, especially when adding two or three of them.

Do they work on BB crews? Yes.
Are they really useful and needed for an optimal crew? Not really if you have a well planned crew with good base sailors.

- Seaman Boosts ability: If you plan your sailors well, they will eventually reach the caps, so seaman would not be needed that much. Seaman works best to boost abilities that are uncapped or capped at very high values (fighter stats for example).

- Medic decreases your chances of sailor death (you will still suffer from it): In case of BBs, the only chance of loosing sailors is when you are shot. In most cases, you need few shots to get sunk, so the chances of crew death happening is very low already. Since it doesn't prevent crew death, the slot is worth more with a support sailor. Medic works best when chances of crew death are higher (CV for example, when every time a single plane gets shot down or your ship gets shot, you have a chance of loosing crew)


In the end, it depends on what you want or think you will need, but for most people both are not needed in a BB crew.

Works but useless.

BB seamen adds to repair time and lss damage.
Just did a test today as a matter of fact.
Stacking seamen does not help . After the 1st seamen there is very little if any effect or added performance.

BB3 shot by bb5 at 3 degrees with rear guns only
with out seamen damage 6412 repair time 129.79 seconds

with seamen damage 6112 repair time 114.23 seconds

6 elite BVE FTRS/seamen stack on pcv increases the speed by 1 knot. Does it help ftrs any more then 1 seamen NO!
