OK it's a bit early for me to be thinking about this (got about 6 lvls to go) but when I hit Yamato at lvl 89, my BO and gunners  will be same lvl (gunners slightly ahead but not much). The 3x 18.1"L guns are at lvl 91.

Should I use Yamato with 3x 18.1"N for 2 lvls then upgrade the guns, or shall I carry on using Fuso/Nagato/B65 until my gunners hit lvl91?

Wait till Lvl 91+ gunners and 37+ OH before you start using Yamato.
Before that Yamato is just one big lump of food/AA battery.

Or you could do what a lot of ppl do nowadays, get 1 attack and leech till you can actually try to do smt in your ship.

Go back into your nagato until your gunners are 91.

The N guns are usable even if you go 36kn >.>

Skill matters much more than the ship you use. I loved my Yamato even with the N guns+AA...

well, I'm not there yet but I'll see what my OH is when I do get it. I guess I will wait but from what Angus said I might give it a try. If I suck or have to leech I'll go back =P

the N guns range, from memory is quite a bit inferior to the Ls. I also think you'll enjoy more the nagato or fuso for those extra two levels.

Nagato spread gets not TOO bad at level 90ish.

Also, if you have a B65, you might want to give that thing a run with the AA gunners in order to get used to using the 4,7 before jumping on yammy.

Of course, if you do want to give the Ns a try go ahead, but you'd be much better in your BB3.

thanks for the advice. I don't run AA on my B65 ATM Because I'm trying to maximise my support lvling. I'm still struggling to speedcap the damned thing =P. I am lvling AA gunners but they are way behind because I started again so I can delay class (and I got a pair of elite reload in the event).

Anyway, I know AA is considered essential but I got so used to playing with 8 supports I don't see how I will be able to survive if I use AA. I will drop to 4 engies 2 rep 1 scout 2 AA in Yammy, probably won't even SD cap. I was hoping to run int 4/4 no AA. is this really frowned upon?

Well yb not using AA you willingly droping one of the IJN bigger advantages but i don't think people will actually snarl at you for it.

heh, nice crew! can't compete with that but I'll give it a try when my AAs get to a reasonable level to be classed.

80-85 ought to do the trick.

and as angus mentionned, that was before the OH buff. Now it speedcaps much easier, with decent ammo.
