The BB is only temporary to give you a taste of the top-tier end-game experience.
You can only use it in that one mission. If you want to play with other, you need to grab any other ship (probably that frigate) and go to the "battle area" in the minimap. Then click on a room (blitzkrieg is easier for starters).
The little mustache dude should be enough to guide in game. More basic info is on this site under gameinfo>intro for the most basic stuff.
