what do you mean?
(For BBs) Guns?
Armors?
Support crew?
(For CV) Pilots type and number?
% of fighter/bombers?
I'll answer to the BBs :
ARMOR
(FOR ALL USN BBs).2 belt to halves torp damage, bulge till you lose are about to lose a knot of base speed. US DOESN'T ARMOR WHORE. Keep the speed.
WEAPONS
(GENERAL FOR AA) If you are using a second pair of gunners to AA, use 2x3"/70 mark 23 N or 2x5"/38 mark 38 L on your ship's T-slot.
MAIN GUNS
BB1 (or 0,5) Alaska/BB1 Guam : 3x12" mark 8 L nothing else. Might want to consider the N for the alaska for ammo reason.
BB1 Nevada : 2x14" mark 9 L on the smaller R slots, 3x14" mark 10 L on the bigger R slots.
EBB1 New York : Special guns 2x14" mark 12
PBB USN_sevastopol : Special guns 3x12" pattern 1907 (they come with the ship, hard to install the wrong gun on it)
BB1 New Mexico 1930/BB1 Pennsylvania 1930/BB1 Tennesse 1941 : 3x14 mark 10 L OR 3x12 mark 8 L (for a meaner punch, but more hangtime, more weight/gun (slower ship, more defensive playstyle)
BB2 New Mexico 1945/BB2 Pennsylvania 1943 : 3x14" mark 7 Ls. Dont try to fit the 2x16" mark 2 Ds. The range is just pure fail.
BB2 Colorado/BB2 Tennessee 1945/EBB2 Mississippi : 2x16" mark 2 L OR Minimonty setup (3x16 mark 3 Ds). That last one has fail range, crap ammo (tenn 45 only fits one bind, colo and mississipi can fit 2) but its fun as heck. Note that the EBB2 Mississipi can also use the New York's lazer guns for a quite funny rushing setup.
EBB3 Maryland/ BB3 South Dakota : 3x16" mark 3 L. New York's 14" option still applies for the EBB3 as it did with the EBB2. Less interesting due the the ship massive firepower tough. Still, if you don't have an EBB1 and 2 and want to give it a go, they are there.
BB3 North Carolina : 3x16" mark 6 L
BB4 Iowa : 3x16" mark 7 L
BB5 Montana (I dare hope you know how to choose guns there, but for the sake of thoroughness) : 3x16" mark 7 Mod 1 OR 2x18" mark 1. Most people choose the higher firepower the 16" offer to the slight bit of extra range and lower hangtime the 18" gives. Both can work decently.
BB6 Nebraska : Comes with the ship and cannot change them. Special Guns 3x18" mark 2.
CREW:
You can choose to use or not use AA for USN. I won't give the pros and cons of that here, but if you go with AA:
5 engies, 3 reps, 1 scout with 2 RLD gunners. USN AA gunners aint worth it in my opinion.
If you go for a support heavy setup (rep on the T slots) :
6 engies 4 reps 1 scout.
(2 main gunners and a BO is included in both...)
I'll leave the SS and CV to players that specialize in those.
