  • Dunkerque Vs Warspite

Hi, I just wanted some general info on which BB is better.  I've heard very mixed comments about both of them, and because I am using the coins I get from the Christmas event, the fact that the warspite is an ebb doesn't matter.  If someone could list the pros and cons about both BBs, as well as compare them to eachother that would be great.

Stormvanger
The Warspite mounts longer ranged guns, has more displacement, better T slot layout, and hits harder. Warspite also carries more scout planes, same number of crew, and can opt to go faster.

Specifically, the gun layout of the Dunkie is fixed, while Warspite has the following 3 options...

15"/45 mkIII L duals - lightest guns, good range, allows for heavy AA armament and armor or speed of 42 knots.
16"/45 mkI L triples - standard guns, same range, hit very hard, anti-torp armor and still make 39 knots.
14"/45 mkIII N quads - heavy damage blockshotting goodness at the expense of range, speed, armor, and AA.

Warspite is the superior ship. And after the event is over, you'll be able to buy a Dunkie if you want, but you won't be able to get a Warspite.

Even so, stormvanger, I love sinking Warspite's in my Dunkie, both MN and UK versions.

Two corrections to Stormvanger's gun suggestions for the Warspite:

- 15" Mk III N and L have same range, so take the N version
- 16" Mk I L have LESS range than 15" Mk III

One addition to the gun list:

14"/45 Mk III L quads (POW guns) - same range as 16"Mk I L, do not blockshot but deliver 16 grenades of doom

14's make it a little too slow in order to get within the same range the 16's can, and the 16's combined do more damage.

Stormvanger has it correct for the 15"L's though - although the same weight, the reload time of the L's is less than the N's - If you can sacrifice the need for huge ammo stores, stick with the L's

the 14L's aren't worth the weight and speed cost imo - you'd be better off with the 16's.

RN BB's (at least most of them) cannot win the range war, but the Warspite has the speed and durability to sneak into range, and pull back for many of the gun options (especially with 900SD). It also has a higher level, making it useful for other levelling needs too.

Just like to say thanks for the question raised and the answers. Yes I am going for the same thing, I have a dunk and have reached lvl 80 and from little research I have done the Warspite is like a BB 3.5 and I will use it to LVL my crew for my LII which is my goal.

This I think is my favorite setup for the Warspite. I did a test yesterday with someone running the 16" Mark I L's and I was running the quad L's and they actually reach slightly further than the 16"s. You may only hit them with one shell, but they only do splash damage to you. I was able to get multiple games with over 100k attack so while they may be weaker than the 16" triples, they still hit pretty hard.

Question... what about the 16"/45 MK II L Triples? According to the NF Guns table, the MK II L weights less than the MK I L, but it takes up more space (umm ok sure? i hope this info is correct). Not sure about the range though.

It does in fact weigh less than the MkI L triples. But it in my opinion does not carry enough ammunition as it can only carry 4 binds on each gun I think.
