  • Trouble running NF on Windows 7

So I have installed NF on my Windows 7 (64-bit) computer, but I am having trouble running it. It loads, but it just stays at the spinning 'Loading...' splash screen, and keep spinning forever. Here's how I am running it:
- tried installing in both Program Files and Program Files (x86), no luck
- NOT running ENFUNSUpdater, NavyFIELD, and NF Launcher in compatibility mode (I messaged support and they told me NOT to)
- running the above 3 as administrator
- No anti-virus has been installed yet (Yes, I am installing and running NF before Anti-Virus, this should say something) 
- Turned off Data Execution Prevention for NF
Anything I am missing?

How much RAM do you have? It could be that there isn't enough available.

I have 8 GBs. So if that's not enough there's a serious problem with NF lol.

OK first off make sure your firewall is not blocking NF.

Proper folder is the (x86) folder, and DEP should not be needed to adjust.
Run as admin and set compatibility mode on the shortcut, application and launcher to
Win 98/ME and run as admin.

Thats all I have on my Win7x64 and it runes like a charm.

Now if you have installed and reinstalled a number of times I would suggest you
remove all traces of the game and make sure you clear out an registry items.

Reboot and do a clean install and make sure you cahnge the install directory to the x86

Ok, I will try what you said. But how would you suggest I remove all traces of the game and clear out my registry?

Funny, the reason why I play much more stable on 7 is EXACTLY because I set the compatibility mode to 98 or XP.
The support ticket said no?

Here are the Common compatibility settings by Operating system

Win7 - 32/64 bit
Run as admin
Optionally you can try " Disable Visual Themes" and "Disable Desktop Compression"

DO NOT turn on compatibility mode to run as Win xx - This usually results in More in game lag.

Win Vista 32/64

Win XP
