  • Asama worth it in long run?

I had did some searching about Asama but I couldnt make up my mind of whether is Asama worth the money in the long run.

Currently I am playing BB path at lvl 50+, and I thought of getting Asama simply because it sports an extra support slot for leveling. I am using the Mogami CA AAing in GB. I plan to use Asama(if I get it) for GB

My current BB crew composition and ships:

Mogami CA, Myoko CA, Kuma Kai CL, Agano CL, Sima DD

1x BO (lvl 54)
2X Main gunners (lvl 56)
2X Armanent sailors( will lvl to DP gunners in future, currently at lvl 38)

6x Engineers ( 4 of them at lvl 50+ the other 2 at lvl 30+)
4x repairers ( 2 of them at lvl 50+ the other 2 at lvl 20+)
1x scout ( at lvl 25+)

I will be getting the B65 PBB indefinitely for the support slots and also currently grinding the event for Hyuga and Haruna.
I also have 2 more BOs using Kuma Kai and Agano(+1 currently at fubuki).

The big question, with my current setup and crew, should I go for Asama or just grind with the current ships I have?

If you got the money and can stand 2 guns with bad spread until B65, go for it.

Though I must warn you, it's not a great PCA.

I believe it's not worth it. The Asama is pretty awful compared to other nations' PCAs. And with your crew it wont make the grind significantly more enjoyable than simply using a Myoko or Mogami 41. And you'd be using it only for a few levels anyway. Once you get the Haruna you'll never step back to the PCA.

If I was at your levels now I'd rather think about which nation I want to play after IJN. USN, MN and KM PCAs are a lot better and much more usable for the grind, because with these nations you can grind at-level crews in the PCA very effectively.

My advice would thus be: don't waste the coins. Use them on something that might prove more useful in the future.

If you use it as a pure AA setup it works pretty well and has 2 extra slots for leveling.
