Yes sir, play Great Battles and AA, you can also play ASW, which is good for DD's and players that are going SS cause you can learn what SS can do what, and you can study what they do, as to teach yourself on what to do when you get an SS. I suggest looking through the Tips n Tactics area for the ASW guide, and the SS guides, if you can not find them on the new forums, then make sure you look through the old forums by clicking on the View Old Data tab.

you can learn a lot when playing anti sub, and is very helpful to your team in GB's.

Can't really AA with IJN at lower levels properly because you are power leveling you sailors. So id say asw against high lvl subs for good exp.
