You have to have a planesman to run a sub.
When he gets to a higher level you will start battle with full tanks.
Level him up as fast as possible and use whatever vet conversions you get in the item drop on him. You may even want to boost him

make sure hes in a support slot
make sure he has 90% of his sailors on him (or more than 90%)
make sure youre not screwing anything up in the measuring
Dont bother measuring underwater time, the only thing that changes that is what tier sub you are in.

Both of those statements are untrue in some way. He is not required to run a sub, but he is required to run one effectively. He does NOT have to be high level to start with full tanks, he has to have at LEAST 90% of his total sailor capacity full (it might be 90% of his total rookies full, but i dont think so).

will do...i was just saying though, he's on my ship now but doesn't do anything to lessen the time needed to re-fill O2. I thought they did.....NF reviews on subbing have mentioned adding the planesman lessens refill time "significantly" but I've found that's not the case :( Takes 31 seconds to exit the red area in the O2 measurer with or without a planesman...see what i'm sayin? I've also added experts and veterens

Read my post. He needs to be in a SUPPORT slot. The nf reviews are correct.

Yep...he IS in the support slot. Maybe I had to re-start the game for him to work....that happens in some games...i'll try again...thanks all!

As stated. The tier sub controls the submerged time. What the planesman does do is control the recharge rate of your air supply on the surface. The better he is the faster you recharge when you are on the surface. Its that simple.

"The better he is the faster you recharge when you are under smoke."

Fixed.

Drop the sub get a BB. Fixed!

Anyway seriously, if its like any other support class, at low level and not BVE, you don't see any difference. Just check a CL1 with our without a lvl 30 engy, for exemple. At higher level tough it makes a world of difference.

From what I've heard, planesmen don't stack. One will do just as well as two will, so there's no point in having more than one.
