It seems to me there are 5 ships between M -Project and H39 (BB4) whichever line you take. That's 2 fewer than the US grind between Brooklyn/Hammy and Iowa but not substantially different than the UK grind between York/Eburgh and L1/Vannie and the same as the IJN grind from Mog/Kuma (unless you choose to specialize in torps or CV wannabe which are not really progressions in my book) to Yammie.

I think the Km line is very well thought out and simple.

the KM line (and also the Soviet for that matter) suffers a little from the fact the KM did not build many ships in real life WWII.

However, the gap is excellently filled with pleasant remodels and all their designs that never got built. At leat be glad you have 2 lines for CA - BB-1-2-3, IJN only gets one BB line and 2 CAs! =P

IJN is sheer torture before lvl 60 or so. I want to quit the game every time I try to lvl this poor ijn bb BO

If you're in a GB in a CA, you're leeching just the same as every other CA.

If you're in Blitz in a CA, you've got a very capable ship and the ability to deal quite a bit of hurt.

Go the GB route and you can be in a Fuso in under a week starting from level 12.
