Run the 16" Mark 2 Ls (duals) with LHE. Armor it like you would any other US BB, 0.2 belt and bulge until you lose a knot, then remove 1 bulge.

Wait for an opening. Rush the enemy, get some attack, rinse and repeat.

With a few levels on your gunner, the dual 16" mk2L have pretty tight spread, so when you do get your opportunity, it hits fairly well. And it has the greatest turret rotation angle of any US BB, you can be facing nearly straight on or straight away from your target and still fire all turrets. Combined with a short distance between front and rear R turrets, this means that you can engage in extreme "dodge and weave" behavior and still land fire on target.

Also, don't overlook the T slots. They have a tight grouping, so fill them with 3"/70 mk23 N guns and AA cover the BB5's from just behind the line, or load them with HH and bring an unarmed escort with a sonarman aboard.

I'm in the TN 1945 right now and can give a little advice. The above info is correct so I am not here to argue against their points of view.

We are in a BB 2.5 and cannot line fight like our higher tier BB team mates. But what we can do in the TN45 is give great AA support to the BB456. The TN45 plays best just behind the line and not in the way of the bigger BBs by keeping the bomber whores off our massive battleships who can do the line fight. Keep the enemy blind and you can sneak in like a ninja and get 1 or 2 salvos on BB456. I have even sunk a BB5 by keeping him blind and being 5-10 degrees under his max angle.

I run .5 deck, .5 belt, and enough bulge to drop a knot and then remove the bulge so you gain back that lost knot. We are SLOW so only engage when you snipe all the scouts out of the sky and you know the enemy is blind. I use the 5" AA guns but run out of ammo 3/4 through a battle with 5-6k credits of killing airplanes. Keep those small ships away so they don't give free sight but always try to engage BB456 or CV456. If you want to use the 3" AA guns to give you more ammo be my guest but it will take more direct hits to kill higher tier planes.

If played right you can easily gain 30k exp per match with a good average of 20-25k exp.

Have fun and good luck!

Other than a slight reduction in dive bomber damage, that 0.5 deck armor isn't doing you any good. I'd recommend dropping it to 0.2 or even 0.0 and putting the weight back onto bulge armor.

Otherwise... spot on!

Generally speaking, BB2s can`t do anything worthwhile on the front line, so just stay a bit behind of the front and shoot at Kitas and rushing pity lemmings.
When the line collapsed, you push F button deliberately, and terminate badly damaged BB5s one by one.

So you can get big deals with minimum effort, and team will win also, hopefully.
