I'm a semi newbie, I have already play NF a year ago but lost my login. Since that time there seems to be new nations
So my question is what is a good starting off nation. Where should I go to get to CV or SS?

If you go Fighters on your CV, then go US. If you want to use both, go KM or MN.
If you want to use SS, then you should go KM or IJN.
The easiest nation for BB is RN.

For BBs go US, it is the most balanced nation and second easiest to play. Do NOT go UK, you want to learn at least some skill. We don't need more noobs to not know what they're doing. KM is the hardest nation to play, so if you want a good challenge and learn lots of skills, lean how to use KM.

For CVs go KM. US fighters will get nerfed in the next CV patch making KM and UK fighters the best again. Some people say US T4s are the best and some say KM T4s are the best. Really, once you get to lvl 110, the stats cap out and its all about how good your microing skills are. My KM +11 bve can kill US ebve 250vets T4s one for one.

For SS, go KM or US. KM is the best for killing subs and US SS5 is the best in my opinion.

i like ijn as a overall nation;
early starting CV's shipwise (lvl 38 oyodo that functions as a cv)
has a lot of ships & remods in the cv line, so you wont be grinding, you'll be looking for a new ship every couple of lvls

on planes, my ijn ones work fine as well,
Fighters ability does not cap at 110 (why else would you bother overvetting to 250 vets ;) )
but working your fighter skills pays of a lot in battle

if you wanna play SS, make sure you have a BB in the same nation, so you can lvl supports for both at the same time.

my advise would be to take a look at the ships, see which ones interest you (or nation) and go with it. ignoring all the people who tell you only to go this nation for this, or that nation for that.

whichever nation and ship line that you can enjoy having a fun time with, or suits your tastes, is the one you should take.

This indeed. But remember that he is a "Semi-noob" Which means he probably doesn't know how to "read" the stats of a ship. And just going for a ship that has a pretty sprite won't guarantee it will let you have fun on it.

Pay attention to what others say about the pros and cons about the nations, ask people in game how does this nation or that nation play stile is and after that just choose the one that suits you best but you also like the looks off (Since yoyu will probably spend lots of time in said ships).

Hope this was helpful :D

go KM ... AA in Z1 'till lvl 28 then get Emden and AA again .. I find this the quickest way to get an SS. With Premium u can get lvl 37 in a days worth of playing

The only problem with laurence69's suggestion is that you really, REALLY dont want anything to do with any SS1.

They will suck the life right out of you.
