I just wanted to re-iterate a few tips for new CV players and sadly for many not so new. This is by no means exhaustive but just based on recent observations of CV play(on Neb. serv.)
1. Please, have more than 3 Ftr pilots. You should have at least 3 squads out at all times. I know it sucks but go back and train more. You don't want to be a CV5 everyone thinks they can count on for vision but only field 3 pilots. If this is you and you get a "fail cv", you earned it.
2. After the split look at enemy CVs and see where you would match up best. By best I don't mean for you to farm, but best for the team. If there are four CVs a side, team up one strong and one weak for north and south for balance. Or if you see they have overloaded then match accordingly.
3. If you are a low level(just come out of blitz CV1-2) load up your CV with "local" Ftrs; Keep scouts and bombers off BBs and other CVs. Level up your bombers but don't use them yet. You'll only hurt your team and feed enemy CVs.
4. CV 3+, DO NOT dogfight over your own BBs.
5. CV 3+, DO NOT DOGFIGHT OVER YOUR OWN BBS! I keep seeing T3s trying to take on T4s right over the BB line. Click like crazy and get whatever Ftrs you can over to the enemy BBs, even if its just for a short glimps before they die. If you have any good BB players on your team they will be able to do something with even a quick glimps.
6. Try and intercept enemy Ftrs before they get to BB scouts over the enemy. Also try and keep enemy BBs from launching their scouts.
7. Do not go into the enemy line at max altitude.
8. DO NOT GO INTO THE ENEMY LINE AT MAX ALTITUDE!(also applies to scouts)
9. Is friendly AA shooting your planes? Don't get mad at them. 98% of the time its you whose not where your supposed to be. If you can down a scout or two, maybe intercept a bombing run ON YOUR WAY OUT, great. But your Ftrs shouldn't be circling around with enemy planes for more than a few seconds before they head to the enemy.
10. Ask for help, in battle. If you are out planed ask for help. If each team had 3 CVs and you notice your alone against two of them say something. If the two PCVs went north to farm and your stuck going south in your CV3-5, say something. Call them out.
11. Look for high tier BBs and keep them in sight.
12. Your winning. Your 2/3 of the way across the map. They are badly out-numbered. DON'T STOP SENDING FTRs! DO NOT START BOMBING! I can't count how many times I've seen this. The enemy is blind, on the run, and running out of realestate. Cvs start sending out waves of bombers only to cause their BBs to go blind and be countered. 1 BB with sight can take out 5 blind BBs.
13. If your a PCV with EBVE T4s and your going north to farm CV3-4s while your south is blind, there is no helping you since you know you are a douche-bag.
