  • [Question] What crew I need for an Aircraft Carrier?

Hello everybody, I play on the Nebraska ( I hope that I wrote it correct ) and I want to go for Aircraft Carrier.

I selected the german harbour and I saw ships, submarines and aircraft carriers.

First I wanted to go for submarines, I know what crew I need for it but it has alot of restrictions ( special, no Blitskrieg )
then I chosed the aircraft carrier.
Now my Bridge Operator is level 20 ( 21 maybe ) so I still have a log way till my first carrier.

What crew I need for the aircraft carrier, deck( on the ship) and support sailors.

I hope you will not troll me and make a detailed post about the crew. Also if you can, say the pro and contra for
 an aircraft carrier ( I want to know what is good and what is bad to this ship )

OK well first of you aircraft carrier is complete without pilots you have 3 to pick fighters, torpedo bombers or dive bombers now u can run all fighters or all bombers there is even the ability to mix you set up but I recommend 6 fighters 1 seaman good on fighter stat and a pair of gunners for Hh or guns that is a basic crew you can add to it on what you think but remember fighters need to have the fighter stat high say +11 or +12 and bombers doesn't really matter as auto bombing lines it up for you.

CV's can hold a maximum of 8 pilots. This can be a combination of fighters, dive and torp bombers and scouts.
I heartily recommend you level a selection of each, at least 6 fighters, 6 bombers (depending on taste) and a scout or two if you like. This will allow you to change up your selections as and when you feel like it (which helps prevent CV play from becoming stale).

With regards to the stats of each, get as high a stat as possible for each 'job' (obviously elites are best), high fighter stat for fighters, high bomber stat for bombers.

The 'support' crew you use is dependent on taste, if you're scared of subs, then use 2 gunners and a sonar-man, if you like the ability to take a hit, repair and scoot away from the battle-lines, then use 2 reps and an engineer, the choice really is yours

Ok, I like that the community is very active but I didn't understand a thing.
Let me remake my questions.

KM Aircraft Carriers - Witch are the PROS and CONS
- What sailors do I need for an aircraft carrier ( gunner, AA gunner, medic, things like those, is
just an example of random classes )
- How many pilots do I need and how many support sailors I need? ( I want to have fighters and bombers)
- What is better, bombers or dive bombers?

Please, explain it to me with a lot of details, I am new in here so I don't know what are you talking about.

you could try looking in the KM section for these answers or using the search function in tips and tatics.

in general you need
1 BO
8 fly boys(split up to you)
1 seaman
2 gunners

KM TB are not great so go DB

Well I would suggest a few different things. The first is to level a crew to moltke level for AA'ing. Experts are crucial to how well your FP's perform early(not a breaker obviously). This will help you level your CV crew MUCH faster and gain vets/experts. You can rotate pilots out as needed to throw on your cv and you can use any kind of crew as the BO.

If your goal is CV5/PCV I would suggest 5Ftrs 3Bmrs. This ensures that you can loadout fighters at a constant rate to keep vision and keep your enemy blind.

I suggest keeping 1 pilot on reserve at all times if you are not using an AA battery or have an AA escort. This will help against incoming bombers. If you have AA or an AA escort leave 1 group over your main BB's.

If your gonna go straight CV's your only choice is to load up on local fighters and stay behind the bb's to kill enemy fighters. Let me know if you have other questions I'm more than happy to help. The guides on here are pretty dated or give you 3 pieces of crucial info and leave 5 out. You'll learn what your play style is quickly once you reach CV2. (Bomber whore or fighter whore.)

I may miss some things:

Pros: Good Fighters, second only to US Fighters; Divebombers are decent
Cons: More levels between ship hulls than lets say IJN, the grind might become tedious

Medics have become useless, if you have too many losses of vets or experts just terminate your internet connection. The crew will still be there.
I suggest AA gunners, you can use them for AA to gain experts and to equip Hedgehogs which is useful in todays Submarine heavy environment.

8 pilots should be enough for a start.

Torpedo bombers and dive bombers: Everyone has a lot of bulge armour, it counteracts torpedoes, because of subs.Your attack will be low. On top of that you don't get rewarded for your personal attack with torpedo bombers. So go for divebombers.

5 fighters and 3 db should be ok. Don't class your fighters beyond fighter pilot at level 40 because baboons made this game, so intuitive logic would actually hurt the ability of your fighters. In short, its a trap. You can class your bombers.
