( i )
If you up-class heavy torpedomen to huge gunners, do they lose torpedo ability?
I.E., if I want mine to remain torpedo-men for use in SS, etc., should I leave them heavy torpers?

I've had difficulty deciding, within the standard SN line-up, which ship makes the best AA escort.
Any suggestions?

(i) You would lose the ability to use torpedo.  Keep it as is.  If you actually bring up the sailor promotion window in-game, I believe the skill the sailor would be able to perform after classing is shown.
