There IS an ability cap. It's just that nobody knows its exact amount.

What is more important than boosting is the decision of getting lots of vets on your fighters (at least 150). Are you ready to pay for that? If not, save yourself the boosts, too.

You can boost your fighters anytime, there is no difference to their ability if you do it early on or later.

At the moment, as your fighters are T2, you will not notice them becoming stronger. Unfortunately, they are still food for everybody else, and no boost will change that.

to be top dog in a dogfight, your fighters need stats, levels, veterans, and boosts.

Stats - +13 is best, of course, but +11 and +12 can hang tough with enough of the other stuff

Levels - self explanatory.  the higher level you are, the more chance you have of winning a dogfight.

Veterans - this is where your actual skill comes from, and fighters crave them to be competitive.  If you don't have 80 veterans on your fighter pilots, you might as well not launch them except to just kill bombers.  You want 150 or more to be competitive.

Boost - an extra 20% skill is always handy.  The more veterans you have, the more skill there is to boost.

Seaman - a seaman with a similarly crazy amount of veterans on him acts like an additional boost to all sailors on board, and he stacks with pretty much everything.  This is most useful for fighters, but will be just a mild boost until that seaman is insanely high level.

There is one, it is ridiculously high and unless you plan on going into the 280+ to 40% Capped Vet range with +12 or higher fighters, your never going to hit it. Its also not fully tested but does exist somewhere in that range.

The biggest myth with boost is they provide 20% boost WHEN they are boosted.

This is false.

A "boost" or Premium Sailor Item is a permanant 20% Boost to the sailors current stats, at all times.

The sailor maintains its true stats, but shows a 20% higher growth rate and ability. (If you watch, your sailors will occassionally when boost not go up by the displayed Growth while a non-boosted always goes up by the growth rate.)

2 identically base stat sailors boosted @ lvl 40 and lvl 60 will have the same stats @ lvl 60 (Other than number of experts and vets and rookies might vary) No matter when you boost a sailor. It is the same effect.

This is the full list of things to do in order to make fighters effective.

What the OP needs to understand is that ONLY when there are lots of levels & vets, a boost makes sense. Otherwise, fighters are just more delicious food...

It would be a bit silly to spend money for boosts if you are not prepared to have tons of vets, experts, and one or two seamen, too.

i disagree with most of responses...

a boost at your lvl its quite usable and worth the olive spend... why?

i have passed those US T2 and they Really Suck... so putting experts its quite a waste of money, as they are gonna get killed a LOT by almost any fighter arround...

putting a serious ammount of vet at this time its not the best spending idea, (assuming you have them with 109 already) because you are going to spend a LOT of money and your fighter are still gonna get eaten...

then Why boosting if there is no point in vets?

well, boosting 4 to 7 sailors its not such a big amount of money compared to vetting 'em... and boost might be the difference between killing bombers or just following them trhu the entire map and only get to kill 1 or 2... and once in a while in some battle you will get infront of a CV2/CV3 with T2 and that boost might be the winning card for u

be aware that you are gonna get eaten by big fighter with no excuse no matter what... they are just to low in lvl, and when chasing bombers they are going to do their job, but not as fast to prevent enemy bomber run to reach his target... once you know that... you should boost those baby sharks... they are going to be quite good once they reach T3 and Beast on T4
