  • What happened to ''SDE responses'' threads?

It's been over a month since the last one, i thought we were going to have some decent comunication and updates now that there is an employee just for that. Is SDE going back to their usual way of handling issues? ie: keep the player base in the darkness, avoid any kind of discussion and so on...

Currently there are a few very interesting questions being asked on the last few pages of the old thread but i bet they stopped reading it after about page 2 so i will report them here in case they notice this thread while they check the forums within the next two weeks.

"-Why the game developing/testing/finishing isnt done internally.

-Why is the test server work load so heavy?

-Why are new projects being taken on before current ones reach completion?

Who does the ship balancing for SDE internally? He should be fired.
Who does the ship sprites for SDE internally? He should be fired. "

Edit: this is not a rant so dont use that excuse if you are planning to lock this.

Your acting as if the appointment of a 'community manager' would have changed the way in which SDE communicate with us.

The only thing that accomplished was the diverting of questions from TNF to another body.

Broken Promises, as always.

We were told the GM's would post more often.

We were told there would be weekly boost up events for different rooms.

We were told there would be the proper effort put into the balance.

We were told that we would be listened to.

----------------

We had two weeks of decent communication, like pretty much every other game has out there. Then its back to the usual SDE.

If the workload is too much for the single US GM that we have, then hire more GM's. Its not like you can't afford it...

In Economics, it is often assumed that companies try to maximise profits. However, that assumption would be wrong with SDE. It is to minimise effort.

I'm starting to think SDE is made up of 4-5 koreans in some random basement.

We have programmers at our company that simply work at a SNAILS pace. It took over 4 years for a scanning system we are now using to be developed and ready for use...its been here 6 months and its still buggy as crap.

I'm guessing $de has 1-2 programmers left at this point and the rest are employees that do nothing.

Take how long it took to figure out the server problem for instance, Most companies having problems like that would have yanked that sever down and replaced it within 48hrs with a better and faster one.

They respond, When they are on the verge of loosing their players...With an event.

I think SDE is a front company for a korean crime family.

I think a korean crime family is a front for SDE, seems like we keep getting roughed up for our money

The threads were useless anyway.

Before the "Open Communication" the community would ask a member of  TNF a question and the answer was "we will foward this to a GM".

After the updates the GM's would respond "we will pass this along to the Dev's".

Who can really get anything done? They always pass the buck to someone else.

The bottom line is, you all should know by now that you  have a better chace of having sex with Natalie Portman than  recieving a competent answer for anyone associated with SDE.

Hey guys,

Sorry for the lack of a recent Q&A. I've been away this week on a family trip. I should be back by Sunday to see about posting something more recent. Also please make sure to check our separate updates provided through our Facebook page and other non-Q&A posts.

-Randy

As a side note, I'd post up pictures of the USS Alabama taken while down here in Gulf Shores, AL, but I left my memory card reader at home.
