Hasley's Tips and Tactics for the KM Sub
First and foremost, this guide for the new guys and some of the old guys who need help playing KM SS. I'm not going to go over the crew, because there is another guide for that. This is mainly for tips and tactics.
SS1 Tactics:
Type-II
lvl 37

Congrats, you made it to your first SS! I hope you have all the crew you need to use this ship. If not, take a look at invincblors guide: http://navyfield.com...ory=A04&page1=1
You are slow, and not well armored. I've seen new SS players rush in their SS1 only to surface and get pummeled by surface ships or getting torpedoed by other subs. Well, it may seem like you're useless but you're not. As a SS1,your purpose is to not charge at the enemy like your bigger brothers, but to hang back and wait. When I first started playing, my fleet-mates told me to hang back with the bbs and provide ASW when other SS are around. You're torps are some of the best in the game, they are proxy torps. Proxy means that they will explode with in a certain proximity of enemy ships. These torpedoes are very deadly especially to SS. They'll explode and cause a lot of damage. Set your torpedoes on gradual fire. You'll fire one at a time and have some reserve after you've shot your first torp. Now, don't expect to be the best first off. Being a SS play requires patience and good judgement. Now I know leveling in the SS1 is hard so you can A. Level up your crew and BO on the Emden, a great AA ship that you can get a lot of credits and fast exp and B. you use a BO reset after you get to Level 46 for the SS2. Now thats basiclly all there is to the SS1. Next we'll look at the SS2.

Well look at you. You're at phase 2 of your SS endeavors. Your SS2 is now a step up from your little Minnow. Now your a Large Mouth Bass in the pond of Navy Field. You have more Torp room, another support slot for an Engy and a R mount for a gun. Now in regards to the R mount, most people I've played with have a Repairer or restorer in that spot but others prefer a gunner. Now, you're bigger, a little bit faster and still have your proxy torps! Your air supply is now bigger so you can go farther underwater. The way I play, which differs great from other people, is that I rush the middle and go as far as I can until I start seeing shells falling around me. Then I submerge and attack the enemy. Starting with the ASW ships. Proxy torps work great when attacking the enemy ASW assets as you don't need a direct hit to cripple or destroy the ship. You can also act like your little brother. Providing ASW for your battle line is a great way to support your team. Now, you can carry about 25-30 torps in the bow and 1-6 in the back. I run 26 bow and 4 aft so I have some defense and more hitting power. I recommend you experiment with this along with your personal play style. Now, you can go toe to toe with SS2-3 but SS4-5 are faster and more armored. DP going from 18,000 to 21,000. You can still take them on with some success. Just remember that they can dance around you. But look, you will get good exp if you sink a ship so try your hardest. Now, when you get to level 55, you can buy the Moltke and level to SS3 which is level 59. Good Luck, you're doing great.
SS3
Type-VII C
Level 59

Well congrats. You made it to SS3 and are now a Pike. You can now eat ships with relative ease. You can play like your ss2, only better. You can rush farther and faster to hit the ships. The first part of the SS2 tips can work for the SS3 pretty well. you can effectively engage the battle line and attack the enemy head on. You have alot of torps so you can now shred bulge. I don't have much to say about the SS3. I think you can handle it here but now you move into a far more advanced play style.
SS4
U-Flak
level 74

Well, you're a piranha in the pond. You are vicious, mean and can fight anything. You play like your SS3, but there's a catch. You have auto cannons. Yes you have rapid fire guns that do decent damage. These guns carry AA and HE ammo. You can shred small ships and CV with ease. This new found advantage will allow you to suprise the enemy and gain more exp since torp exp is bad. You look like your SS3 but you pack a punch. Your play style should be ready. You reading my guide is practically over so read the next part and have fun.
SS5:
Type-IX D2
Level 95
2,856,000
Well you are now a Snake-head. Add some more engys on it and youre ready to go. Your speed is great and now you can go farther underwater. You are now a danger to all ships so you don't need my guide anymore. So Good Luck and Happy hunting.
Some of the Credit goes to my fleet for helping me complete this guide. hopefully it will be of use to some other players.
