Full ship limits =/= balance

As long as your rooms are balanced or at the least close enough that autobalance wont screw one side too much I see no problems starting with less then maximum limits. Too many hosts want you to sit and wait while the room gets full of filler rather then starting when balance is ok.

Totally agreed. I started with 4 CV yesterday and got a 'noob cv balance' when there was a double gb cv, 2 single gb cvs and 1 4bar cv... nothing too bad, and the 4bar/1gbar cv side won so yeah....

I myself do not host anymore since it's a pain to get ships of at least equal ability when it comes to CV's since a FW only ship vers the same ship thats a BW really does not balance out the room. 

Yet host how you like, many of us want manual balance back but it's a fleeting hope that will more than likely never come to pass.  Most of the games i play in NF pretty much bore me into sleep anyway so i just kinda go through the motions. 

I agree with you that there is no need for 20/6 120% just go when it's mostly balanced, yet i like going with 20 bb's more food to snack on usually.

you get better exp with 20BBs and 6CVs... so waiting a minute it would worth the wait.

and anyway, big battles are a lot more funny. starting with 20BBs and 6 Cls should be classed as Tiny Battle, not Great
