Yes there is a 10 day period where you cannot join another fleet. This was made to prevent fleethopping during HA. At one time it didnt apply to squads but people realized they could pull their squad fro mtheir fleet and then leave and hop to another fleet right away.

As far as i know, you have to wait 10 days to join a fleet so you cant just flop around fleets for HAs to prevent mercing.

Kind of funny as I am the only member of this squad I made for fun yet must wait 10 days lol.  Does the game physically keep you from joining a fleet from a self made squad?  Or is it just a rule, and where is this rule written?

Send a support ticket with this explanation and it can be removed by a GM (they also may not remove it).

I believe there was discussion about changing it to allow people to join fleets but not participate in HA. Although with the amount of account sharing and spare accounts floating around it is a pretty meaningless rule these days.

It is not a written rule as you ask, but there are policys in games and such that dont always have to have a written rule for it to be implemented

its also included in the game engine, so its part of the game, not a rule so to speak 

A GM can lift the penalty if so chooses, but dont count on it
