OK, I am looking into the idea of a usable (not useless basically) new player guide for NFNA with all the information possible to make the game easier for new players.

If anyone has any ideas of the problems that usually plague newer players (which CAN be avoided with the required information) can they post a list of things here and how you would suggest countering it.

I would suggest making a video with  all basic information as possible.

Cracko

-Bases for sailors.

-Brief explanation about what is each sailor for.

-Planification of what kind of sailors you need for a bb/cv/ss crew.

-Explanation of the importance of promoting them on time. Btw, I think there is a problem of lack of points at the start for new players about they can't class the sailors on time if they level too many at a time ...

-What premium items are more necessary and where.

That should cover most of the problems for new players i think, once they have clear those issues they can start to read more complicated guides.

I suggested time ago to make a competition about making a good and new oficial guide with prizes in olives and put it avaliable for download.

I dont know if i have to post this here but, the Starter Packs have to be changed a bit, especailly restorers on every pack, people pay to start with the best, and most of the players stop playing when someone says: Your crew is wrong, start over. I have tons of friends that quit the game because they had to start over because of the crew, and the 90% of them bought starter packs.

A video format is not an idea I will be experimenting with.  The guide will be written in clear, concise and correct English.  This way, it can be translated by members of the community who wish to do so into whatever languages they wish.  Google Translate should also work well if the correct language is used.  Videos end up with a number of problems, usually the biggest being that no-one can understand what the person talking is saying.

So, for the purposes of this guide, I will be writing it.

Absolutely correct.  I have raised this point several times but I don't get anywhere with it unfortunately.  It will be made VERY clear in the guide.

Agree with all, more points for new players is something I have also complained about for a long time but still have got nowhere.

Im thinking about a Navyfield Wikipedia in english , upgraded with a new guide version. There is one, but in another language.

p.S i can help with submarine basic information for your guide, if you want me to.

I have run into payers that have leveled to CL and above, that did not know how to fill recruits on their sailors...

Keyboard shortcuts and hotkeys.

I think I'm still a relatively new player (3 weeks in and I didn't know what tabbing was or how to zoom out until yesterday) and I can tell you that a list of keyboard shortcuts and hotkeys (more than just the chat command list pasted in this forum) would be very helpful.

Examples that I've learned just in the last 3-5 days alone
(and I don't think there is a comprehensive list of keyboard shortcuts and hotkeys out there other than maybe trainworld and that doesn't have some of what I learned yesterday):

The quick load, launch return keys for CVs (pilot # followed by ~)
f11 zoom (this is fn+F11 on a mac btw)
f5 keyboard layout
f12 chat pullup
f2 team chat
+ cease or resume fire for escort

and that . works as the trigger for both manual torpedo and manual dive bombing.

note (on a mac the f1-12 keys are triggered by holding fn+the function key you want)
