Here is "what is wrong with this picture."

Players that are so afraid of SS that they HH the T slots instead of using AA.  THen the other side parks a squadron of fighters over your ship that no one ever shoots down so unless you want to send your scouts on a suicide mission level up a support in that slot.

PS.  Scouts should be default on all ships bigger than DD FF to eliminate the problem.  If you want to enhance your Scout abilities then you have the option to use a Scout in a support slot.  RIght now the scout in support slot is a TOTAL waste of space and a TAX on the ability to level an effective crew for the next ship.

How is a scout a waste of space?!?!  If you can help provide vision for your team with a scout in a CL or CA while the BB's are FP Capped, that doesn't help your team? (And yourself as a result since there is more shared XP and the better chance for a win?)

Methinks Mr Awesome needs a labotomy.

I can't speak for everyone, but I'd say there's definitely a group of BB drivers for whom leveling a scout is not a hinderance at all - It is part of their required sailors on a BB. I don't have a single BB crew that does not include a scout. Why? Because I am obessive about having vision exactly where and when I want it on the battlefield.

Probably posted this half a million times by now since certain people cannot drop a subject. Just because you force a BB to EQUIP a scout, does not mean he will LAUNCH that scout.

I can honestly say Ive watched people who I know have scouts, not even launch them when theyre totally blind and cry straight to the CVs about it. Hell even when theres no CVs in a gamee BBs still blame them lmao.

So lets stop making these silly posts about people with no scout, or ships with fail setups. Its not needed to publicly humilate them for something many many people do. (FYI just because you hide their account name, but leave their ship name and fleet tag right there, you could still know who it is.)

have you said them to launch that scout? with my cv i forced people that in a battle didn't carried a scout, carring it and using it the from next one. how i achieved this? i didnt give them a single fighter to scout and pointed out how useless they are.

so yes, if they have to carry a scout they will be forced from other player to use it.

You see. Its not part of my job to tell others how to play. Therefore I will not sit there telling someone to scout when they had no intention on doing so. I may ask for support or such, but that is more of a personal choice rather than a demand.

And as much as you may think youre the be all to end all, you cannot force people to do something unless you put physical restrictions on it. I.E not being able to leave port without a scout equipped, not gaining as much exp if you didnt contribute to scouting, and such. FORCING people to do something will never work. You need to give them a reason to.

You have to keep a scout for when your cv suicide rushes and gets killed :D jk.

As for "RIght now the scout in support slot is a TOTAL waste of space and a TAX on the ability to level an effective crew for the next ship." The error in that statement is that the scout is required for an effective crew for the next ship.

See, I have to differ with you here.  Do you not care when the actions of others affect your ability to succeed in the game?  Played that way or not, NF IS a TEAM game.  The actions of a single individual can directly affect everyone on the team.  Given that, I have no problem with people being called out for not running scouts or simply running a "fail" setup as they say.

Whether it be scoutless BB's, CV's that are FP capped and still launch bombers right into them(there's a CANCEL button now ya now), CV's who either all go the same direction or simply sit at the spawn and don't move, or BB's with fail setups (torps on an SY anyone?) it all has an effect on the team.  And since I can't choose my team anymore, anything I can do to make them better team players (thus helping myself in the process), well, I'll do it.  I understand the importance of team play.  I ALWAYS run a scout on my BB's.  I run a FW CV and actually try and send my FP's to SCOUT for the BB's.  If I'm in a lower tier ship I'll run AA or ASW to protect the BB's and, failing vision, I'll even try to run out ahead and scout with my ship if need be.  Is it because I'm a nice guy that likes to do for others?  HELL NO!  I want to win so I get more XP.  You talk about people not doing things if they don't have the motivation, well what better motivation is there than more XP for the win???  That's not enough for you??  You want extra XP for scouting?  Why?  You should be doing it anyways.  Now I can see the argument from the CV side about lower XP for running FW and scouting.  THAT IS a legitmate complaint.  you should be able to get equal XP as a FW, BW, or some type of mix(as long as you do enough to deserve it of course).

I mean, I just don't understand your rationalization for saying it's ok not to scout and you shouldn't try to coerce/force people to do so.  Let me ask you this, do YOU run a scout?

i gave a reason. want fighters to go over enemy? put up a scout. it was simple, it functioned. i forced them using a scout.

it's not your job to tell people how things work better? are you a lone wolf? we play in team, team should cooperate and if someone is leaving half of his strenght at home you should point it out. dont be lazy, just need a phrase. get a scout and use it, i wont scout for you. then let him get blind and get sink.

the more we don't do nothing the more players will grow up without a scout.
