I have not read this forum very carefully, and I am sure I have missed dozzens of rage threads about Italy, but here is another one regardless...

 

I count myself as a decent BB player, usually getting scores closer to 200k. Scores doesn't messure skill, and frankly, I don't care, that's not what this thread is about. Against almost every BB5 or bellow in this game, I know how to fight, I know what tactics to use, how much range they have, how their hangtime is, how their spread is. Even though I can get killed by them, I know why and I know what I did wrong or what they did good. Then the Italians came. They all have a very low max angle. They all have very good spread. They all have mediocre damage, but still not bad damage. This alone is enough for anyone and everyone to fear them.

If this is then combined wit a good submergance value (hull integrity), good turnrate, good speed and the smallest hitbox known to man, then you have the Italian BB4s. If the rest of Italy isn't, these things are deffinetly overpowered, to the extreme. I took the liberty of checking what ships killed me today in the 16 battles I played. I got killed 7 of these games, 5 times of these, Italian ships were involved. 4 times Italian BB4s were involved. They are impossible to fight! They have the same range as my monty, they have such a low max angle that their shells will allways hit, they are so small that they can, if they play good, dodge my shells 9 out of 10 times. Their setup gives them an advantage only the QV had before, that they can decide how the game is played. If they play defensive, then the enemy team will have to as well, because rushing these things is impossible. If they play offensive on the other hand, the enemy team will also have to defend, because as soon as they get in range, they have an advantage.

But let us now, for the sake of argument, say that we actually hit this Italian piece of ****. Let's say we even put a full salvo in the guy, in our Montana. What happens then? He runs back and repairs. Because, even a full salvo from a Monty wont kill them, because you will almost always hit the belt with a few shells. I have put all my 12 shells in Italian BB4s 5 times in total. 1 time that was enough to sink them, 3 times it got them down to yellow or orange, and 1 time (almost full belt hit ~30k dmg), it only got his SD down.

No ships in this games are immortal, but if any ships are close, it's the Italian BB4s.

 

So, make what you will out of this, I am sure everyone is already aware of the problem with the Italians, still, never hurts to rage, right? :)

*awaits NYB to come along and tell anyone here dissin the rmbb4 that they need to l2shoot/play/aim/angles and that they're easy to kill and whoever can't kill one sucks big time trololol etc...

This gets back to what I was railing against over 2 years ago.  You let a "self appointed" so-called "select" group of players do all the testing and what do you know, 85% are running the Italian line.  Gee whiz Opie, what a suprise!  They used to call that "letting the fox guard the chicken house."

It is so hilarious to see ITI BB4 rolling along side any BB5-6 and they cut through the opposing BB line like a hot knife through butter.  Then they congratulate themselves in open chat for thier "awesome" team score.

FYI they are very difficult to sink with SS5 as well.  Small hitbox.  Fast getaway speed.  Pack some Event HH and you are in for a short game.

Why does it take so long to fix?

Well, when you take on a group of people that are writing C++ for college credit inbetween other classes and a social life....yea, it takes time.

I agree RM BB4 is highly overpowered but maybe you should review your armor setup.

The Italian ships haven't been balanced by the players, they were balanced by SDE. I refuse to play Italian BB's on the public server until they are balanced as it is flat out unfair. I can't say anything for anyone else however. There were bug fixes done to them because they were in a complete mess when first put onto the test server, but SDE decided to release them before they were balanced properly.

We are working on them, if anyone wants to come and help out, please feel free. The first set of changes that are being tested are the hitbox changes.

SDE only do monthly patches so unfortunately we need to wait on that. We have said from the beginning that the Italian nation shouldn't have been released like it was. But, the community were complaining about wanting the nation as soon as possible.

However, we want to get it right and not rush it.

Thats the most retarded set up known to mankind.

The entire RM line is OP to hell but your armor set up certainly isnt helping you, infact im fairly sure it cant even stop CA shells - get rid of the deck and belt (only keep 0.2" belt to reduce torp damage) and grind another nation while you are at it.

By the way, do people live under a rock or something? Why are you blaming the people who waste their time testing the balance changes instead of SDE who just rushed things as fast as possible to milk even more $$?

I applaud ljsevern for taking the moral high ground on this issue.

This is a fine example that the rest of the community should follow.

I look forward to that little green yoda and his light sabre flying above all nations. EXCEPT the Itailian nation, until the patch has been implemented.

***really tappo, is it "retarded"  I maxed the deck and belt as an experiment BTW if I have a "retarded" setup maybed you could PM me the proper setup for an H44.  I am new to navy field and I could use some wise advice.

I quit playing my KM BB line because of those those small OP creatures that overcrowd our server. They are everywhere! just rushing as if they were invincible (well, actually they almost are).

They dont even use the BB5, they go all they way to BB6 using their expressway BB4.


They have made KM BBs definitely useless.

And I have only been playing the game because of the event exp, now that is over I will be avoiding as much as I can until RM is balanced.
