  • MN sub question...

    07. 10. 2011 10:18

Well, as ive just decided to go down the MN sub tree with my new (second) MN crew and be a "sneaky French bastard" (mind the quotes) in GB2's this left me wondering: where do MN SS's stand when compared to those of other nations?

I know the KM and IJN are more or less on top with the KM proxy torps and the IJN long range torps, but where does MN stand? Do we have any advantages or are we just there to look good? ;)

Smal is good, it has a small hitbox, is fast. And its harder to hit. Good planesman is almost a must because if you surface you pop smoke and if you have a great planesman you regain air so fast :P

Yeah, was planning on at the very least boosting my planesman.. :) Still got a long way to go with training those sailors though.. XD

I hate to admit it but when your going up against a IJN SS3/4 your going to have a huge advantage.

IJN SS are big and slow. The SS4 has 8 front T no Rear, which means if you can get behind it you have a high chance of sinking it. the SS3 is slow and does not turn fast so you could easily out maneuver it and fire rear torps.
Last but not least you want to watch out for KM/IJN torps.
KM= Proxy Torps
IJN= Long Range Torps

On a side note... i just revealed my sub to you >.<

Not true. It is big, yes.
But all subs can hit 40 KNTS. my sub is not slow and goes 25-35 which is regular for a not KM/US sub.

I only have an MN SS3 and don't play very often so my experience is limited. But so far from what I have found is that:

1. Nice and small
2. Rear torps straight away
3. Range of the torps doesn't seem too bad but it could just be me thinking it's longer than it really is
4. Pretty nice damage of torps from what I found
5. Splash area of the torps is greater than other nations. (This is probably it's best advantage I'd say)
6. They look the nicest of all subs. Although the SS3 is a bit too big
