I just got my first cv (seytlitz) as KM today. Everytime i right click a target for my bombers to attack they go into dive bomb and it seems like they just suicide into the ship. Why wont they drop bombs? Do i have to do something manually? I have bombs loaded on my ac and carrier. It seems real noob that i have to ask this. Is it because my dive bomber pilots are lvl 47 and they suck? Thanks for the help

The hit box size of the target is a factor in missing.    The Hit box of a CV at OH is easier to hit then the Hit Box of an FF on OH.  Small targets at high speed are difficult.

In NF, bombs, (and mines) drop straight down from the moment of release.  The closer the DB gets to the ship in the attack dive, the greater the chance of hitting with the effect of encountering greater AAW.

I would like to ask some DB pros to confirm this. Due to the very superficial manual we get from SDE players have to create guides almost for everything. Logically, ship must be able to dodge the bombs already in free fall only because of maneuvering.  If the ship is motionless and you autobomb it with sucky bombers with close to zero ability you still cannot miss the target, unless your bombs somehow fall not directly down. SS torps can dud and go under the ship, but bombs cannot fall left or right, they have to go straight down. My understanding is that Bomber ability provides planes (not bombs) with durability against AAW, AA and FTs. So small ability on Bombers should kill your planes when you dive but cannot realistically change the accuracy of your bombing. Or can it?

You're correct here. Bomber ability only affects durability and AAW immunity. This is why some high level DBs can take out low level fighter pilots. Bomb ability doesnt affect accuracy at all.

Never EVER autobomb from the South West.
For some reason it rarely hits even if the target is sailing straight (or even standing still).

Yes. It's like "Never EVER torpedobomb from the north to south".

Strange NF physics, really.

What he means by this is do not attempt to divebomb from the side of a ship. Always come in from the rear. You might as well let your bombers get shot down by AA or fighters if you attempt to come in from the side; the bombs are too easy to dodge and more often than not will entirely miss their intended target.

I always do it from the side. If you do it right youll never miss, its just about doing it right. Rear is way too easy to dodge alot of the time, especially by faster ships. Perpendicular works especially well with the fatter CVs that have nice, juicy hitboxes...

I was referring to auto bombing. It's very easy to do from the side with manual.
