Atm i have VIIC, speed is 30/37 and 25/31 underwater (22 torps, 0.2 belt and only Engi and Planesman has full crew). Can SS3 go any faster? Anyway my engineer is lvl 66, premium, base +11, 130 vets and full experts. Maybe i need Elite engineer (or even 2 for SS5 and 6)? And my planesman is lvl 69, premium base +14, 130 vets, full experts. Oh and rest and rep are +10 or +11 on them. Idk what to do, i want more speed, OH time and air recovery, so do i need elite sailors or i am doing fine whit my current supports?
Any succestions?
EDIT: Thx for answers! But i didnt asked what crew i need, my question was: Elites or not? How much my speed, OH and air resupply will get better if i change my planesman and engineers for elites? Thx!

Then you're just adding weight to your ship. That kind of leveling should be done on a different ship.

About taking of weight on the ship. If that engineer on the R slot doesn't make a difference then try it with the following: You torpers are likely capped. You might be able to remove some rookies off of it. I have found that sacrificing rookies/reload on the rear torp is an option since you might not need it as readily. Finally, in the 60s, don't expect your engineers to make a significant difference in bringing your speed up.

the torped ability cap is 850k. Trimm your torpers according to that. if thats not enough start trimming your rear torper more. Theroretically u can trimm your sonarman according to the sight jumps. Sonarrange isnt increasing linear but with steps. 6.70k/1300k/2200k potential ability if i am right.(old alabert guide includes precise data. Another advise by me: Start a bb crew. I would recommend to do bb primary and ss secondary but works other way around too. the advantage of having a bb line is, that u always have enough sialors to fit all slots with high lvl crew. e.g. 2 gunner for u-flak guns, or 2repairer for u-flak or maybe when ss5 comes it might have scout but not sure about that. Furthermore ss exp is well...low but i hope that will get fixed. so lvling good supporters on sub is easy. Another point: if u want 900sd on ss4(its nice to have with a bb4 like rep rate) u shouldnt trimm your BO if not necessary and always put 0.2belt on, it reduces torp dmg by 50%. it helps alot am might be even worth 1knot

All my sailors (not engi and planesman, they have full crew) r trimmed as much as possible (vets... :S ), i hope, someday we can remove vets also. My front torper has 120 vets, 100 exp and nothing more (not very fast reload, but i want speed more) and rear torper has 40 vets and nothing else. And my sonar has too 40 vets and no exp/rookies. And i have BB crew: 2x Gunners, 2x AA, 4x Rep, 4x Eng, 2x BO and scout. SD is not the main thing what i want for my SS, i want as much speed, OH and air resupply as possible, so i think, maybe i need ELITE engineers and planesman, i will lose rep rate and SD cos of that, but... And i have 0.2 belt, i even carry less torps cos of that and max speed (30/37 knt). Anyway i dont need that kind of help, i know what crew i need etc. I need some specific info, like how much will be elites better then my 11/10/10 engineers and 14/10/10 planesman? Is it worth to spend 20 USD? What will be my speeds with Elite sailors? What is KM SS3/SS4 max speed underwater? 40? Etc... I have read alot of stickies and im not new player, so i dont need basic information, but secret tips r welcome! :D Still no one didnt answer to my question, but i think i know, what i must to do, ill get Elites. Thx u all for reply. :)

Well for speed it will obviously be an elite boosted engineer. Get it into the 90s with at least 150 vets and you should really see a difference. Your +11 boosted (premium) is about the same as an elite. But once again, in the 60s, the engineer (esp a single engineer) will not give you the speed you see on veteran sub players.

Hi mates, so there is a comparison of +13/9 and +12/10 Engs: A100 = lvl 100 ENG 10/10/12 (boosted) A120 = lvl 120 ENG 10/10/12 (boosted) B100 = lvl 100 ENG 9/9/13 (boosted) = elite ENG B120 = lvl 120 ENG 9/9/13 (boosted) = elite ENG ---------------------------------------------------------------------- true ability: ENG / Repair (=Restore) in Millions with 150Veterans, rest Experts A100 = 3,93 / 1,28 A120 = 5,57 / 1,53 B100 = 4,08 / 1,13 = +4% / -12% compared to A100 B120 = 5,78 / 1,33 = +4% / -13% compared to A120 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- OH time, OH speed (for 1168 tons loaded U-Flak's speeds 28 / 23 knots surfaced / underwater) (Maximal loaded U-Flak's speed is 27 / 22, mainly underwater -1 knot is high price for 13 tons of difference) no ENG = 8,0s, 33 / 28 A100 = 43,7s, 39 / 32 A120 = 58,6s, 40 / 34 B100 = 45,1s, 39 / 32 B120 = 60.5s, 40 / 35
Some of U-Flak's speed verified with NF 1.324. BOSS
