I'm not going to get into a debate about the personal things about His Holiness, no man is better than another, and he has fallen aswell. He can make the same mistakes we can, and nothing makes him a "superior" person. However, nobody can explain how, or why this man managed to be elected Pope. "Our Lord works in mysterious ways."

No ponies this time. Dead serious.

If he is not better than anyone else, why is he called His Holiness? Also, I can explain how he was elected easy. The Cardinals voted for him. You're right, the why part is the impossible one to answer.

The title "His Holiness" is the official title of the OFFICE of Pope. The title has nothing to do with the man given the office.

As for the "why" question, only God knows.

It doesnt take much digging into history to find that papal elections have absolutely nothing to do with the will of God.

Yet he is the Head of the Catholic Church worldwide. I also think he has a sense of humor too.

Who said he is better than every other single person in the world? Who said he is a better person than you or me?

Well, great job to him for being the first pope to realize that. Seriously, I like his attitude, but stuff like this should be the norm, not the exception.

Makes no difference. That house is long bereft of lordship.

That particular reference has to do with Pagans if I remember correctly.

But let's be honest here, humanism has corrupted a noble institution with tolerance and inclusiveness. Once any institution starts treading down that road (Humanism), anyone and any group will demand tolerance or inclusivity or cry "Discrimination".

Vatican II was basically a knee-jerk response to Civil Rights legislation passed into U.S. law with the penstrokes of L.B.J.

Vatican II placed the HRC into the realm of the Laodiceans, so to speak. You see, there is no Humanism in Holy and what is humanism must and should remain seperate and apart from the Church. The Jesuit priesthood stands for strict adherence to Church doctrine yet it remains to be seen if the doctrine upheld by the current Pope will be pre-Vatican II or just a simple continuation of current Church permissiveness.
