Restore work yea
But he give you SD and even without him on high lvl you will reach SD cap
Its usefull for lower lvl to faster reach 900SD
But on high lvl yea he is unwanted weight on your ship with bad rep satats

I use a restorer on my Carriers to get me to 900SD. If you do not plan to level a carrier, I would advise against using a restorer.

I found the restorer useless in a CV, once your BBs are gone you are next and you are finished, or if you are at the ending part of a 15+ high level bomber wave its game over for you, id rather use a Repairman or an Engineer, OH time or repair rate will save you more than a restorer.

It all depends. In GB's today, even if one CV (me) is taking apart the enemy fp and scouts south while also scouting scout, the other 2 cv's could be crap. That allows the enemy CV north & mid an uncontested route to conduct a bombing run on you. With 900SD, you can survive while having enough DP to OH and dodge more incoming bombers. Or you can find a way to keep the skies clear mid and south while keeping the south scouted. (A CV's job gets more complicated if it carries sonar and HH)
In GB's, my CV is setup to clear the skies and to be able to survive unexpected damage (SD). In HA's, where your ship doesn't rep after each battle, you must be able to rep in-game and OH to avoid damage while providing air superiority (and sub detection/destruction if you have sonar and HH).

I still find the Repairman/engineer more effective than a restorer in a CV, you wont be able to evade an expirienced/lucky torp/bomb run if you only have 10-15 seconds of OH, or if you end to survive the bomb/torp whore run you wont be able to repair fast enough with only 50 DPs/sec to survive the nextone. Sometimes is better to have 600 SD with a good repairer than 900 SD with repair based on the pilots-restorer/pilots-restorer-seaman. I can tell for expirience since i tested the effectivness of both set ups in live server in GB and found a repair/engine more usefull than the restorer. As for the Sonar-HH setup, you wont need the sonar once you figure out how SS attack you, but if you want to use it there is always the Escort configuration option. This went Off Topic BTW.

darn you caught me hehehe :) but i just needed somthing to take spot and someone was trying to sell me one for cheap price but i rather keep my credits and just put something else on the Kaiser
