While that is true, it won't work in-game as I've to press Alt Gr to be able to use it :P
I've already tested it multiple times. 

That's because the Alt Gr key is there for alternate functions. Any key with 3 symbols on it requires the use of the Alt Gr key to access one.

Also the problems you guys are having stems from you identifying the wrong key lol. The key that launches or loads the planes is actually the ` key, which is also the ~ key on some keyboards. It's actually not on mine. I have a slightly strange English keyboard that has the key for ` ¦ and ¬ to the left of 1. I have the tilde with my hash symbol, to the left of Return, which is the key on the right of the alphabetical characters, but to the left of the page up/down and arrows. Enter is bottom right of the number pad.

 

If you'll notice on Norwolfies keyboard layout, the correct key would actually be SHIFT + the key just to the left of Backspace, or of you really were using the tilde key (~) it would be Alt Gr and the key to the left of Return, as Norwolfie says.

The question is, does Alt Gr and that ~ ^ key actually work?

Does shift and \ work?

 

Before anyone flames me, as I said, the tilde isn't even on either key for me, but that ` button to the left of 1 still readies and launches and returns planes, hence the assumption that ` is the key, not ~

 

EDIT: Looking at your keyboard layout, they really like the Alt Gr key in your country, huh norwolfie?! lol

In-game it won't work, thus I've gone with changing my layout to English (USA) :P
I image that shift + \ won't work either as it's a modifer and not the "pure" key.

and lol sorry for any misunderstandings; I've thought it was the ~ as I've seen someone mention it before. Anyhow, changing the layout of my keyboard worked anyways, so it's a lazy fix if you don't want to think too much about it xD

Shift is more commonly used in my experience. I rarely use Alt Gr while typing, as it's used for stuff like "~ ´ } ] [ {" etc :P

 

Although you correctly identified the tilde punctuation mark (~) on the norweigan keyboard and the name of the key we would be looking for on a US layout keyboard is called the tilde key, the key primarily types a grave (`)  and a grave is the hotkey for launch/ready/return/cancel. What the norweigan keyboard needs is a key which primarily types a grave, not a tilde.

That said, there is a grave key on the norweigan keyboard seemingly, and that doesn't work either.

However, ingame there is a command called Return to ship under the hotkeys which is assigned as ` to me, perhaps this can be rebound to a key that is easier to use and part of the normal norweigan layout? It may just rebind the Return part though, who knows :)

ya that's how it is; to type the grave I've to use shift (and a space to make it appear). 

I've messed around with the Return to ship hotkey a couple of months back, but as you say it just rebinds the return part. It kinda sucks not having that hotkey availble with my current layout, but it's not that big of a deal :P

and I feel this topic has dragged out a bit too much now :P
