  • Low FPS on Windows 8.1 64 bits

DonTony

I changed old windows 7 64 bits laptop to my this new one and it has windows 8.1 in it. Specs are better than the oldest one, but for some reason its working like crap. Ive tried installing the game on program files and program files (x86), didnt make a difference there. Ive dled the latest drivers for my gc and still no difference. Ive no idea what to do to get it fixed.

My fps are like 17-19 in battle, ive been off navyfield since i bought this new laptop and i hope you guys could tell me what to do.

I also had this problem but I got mine to run without doing anything weird. I'll just list the things I've done to get it to work but I won't guarantee it will work in yours as I am not sure why mine works normally.

1) Remove compatibility mode. Don't use it.

2) Make sure you have your DEP settings on "Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only." DEP menu can be found by:

Step 1: Right click over my computer.
Step 2: Click on "Advanced system settings" on  the left side.
Step 3: Click on the "Advanced" tab
Step 4: Under "Performance", click on "Settings".
Step 5: Click on the "Data Execution Prevention" tab

3) Disable DPI scaling for all programs.

To do that:

Step 1: Open Control Panel
Step 2: Click on "Appearance and Personalization "
Step 3: Click on "Display"
Step 4: Check the box in front of "Let me choose one scaling level for all my displays"
Step 5: Tap or click Apply.
Step 6: Choose either Sign out now or Sign out later to apply the new setting.

NF will not run correctly without the DirectX 7, 8.1 and 9.0c libraries present.

Most major title games install these via the DirectX Runtime. If you have not installed the legacy DirectX Libraries through another game's installation, Windows Update or manually; do so.

(Microsoft Direct X Runtime Installer)

The game also runs best with the 2005 and 2008 Visual C++ Runtime libraries installed as well. These also install with most games made between 2004 and 2011. They can also be manually installed. This is the number one source of Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 crashes.

Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and up do not (and never will again) come with the legacy directX and C++ Runtime libraries to save install disk space and must be installed by another program or manually.

Norm u killed me with ur post. The Samsung Ultrabook i have runs NF until I log in/switch ships/go to battle map/enter the room then it starts to lag/cut the music/loop the music so its a net problem or sending info/packages problem.
My comp is a i3 intel/4 gb ram/intel graphics running on win 8.1 with direct x 11.
But whats with those C+++ runtime lib??? What program do i need to install them?

All the C++ Runtime Libraries (Also the DirectX Runtime Installer for legacy DirectX dlls) can be found on the Microsoft Download Website or MSDN. Simply go to Microsoft's website and search for "2005 C++" "2008 C++" "DirectX Runtime"

Also, please post your NavyFIELD.RPT file. (C:\Program Files\SD EnterNET\NavyFIELD)
