For the Hero Sailor to truly be the best sailor in all categories, the potential needs to be buffed by 3, to +17.

In all other categories, the max roll for a sailor is +12. Elites are +13. Heroes are +14.

In the Potential category, the max roll is 15+. Elites are +16. Heroes should be +17, not +14.

Using Hero Sailors instead of Elites for Sonarman and Planesman classes reduce the overall sonar and air recharge ability.

We know elites are +16 Pot +13 in which ever one you purchase so..

lvl90 neuts should be +15 Pot +12 all the rest of stats

Hero Sailor +17 Pot +14 all the rest of stats

and like everything else in the game, if you pay good money you get good sailors. So people that spend money to stay under in their SS longer with hero sailors dont bother me. Have fun with your $1000 crew. What ever floats your boat. Ill stay getting owned in my $100 crew. I still have fun, I may talk junk, but thats in any game or sport. I approve this and would be cool if NF goes with this but I dont see them making any changes to sailors and ships anymore. Would be very surprised if they do.

I wouldn't say there should never have been a Hero. I think it's important to have this game mode (WaW) that rewards you for getting all the way to 100, and helps you on your way to 120! The medals are a part of that, allowing you to buy special stuff for your trouble.

I'm just not sure potential is really an important thing to tweak. Meh well each to their own I guess lol

JonA is about the only one talking sense here.

Hero sailors have their uses, use them for that. Same as special and support sailor.

They are what they are. Just because you want better stats, does not mean someone has made a mistake designing these sailors.

SDE's mistake was making these hero sailors common as muck, previously they were nearly impossible to get, those that did manage to get them were very very happy little boys, now it's not good enough! seriously?

You want the best pot stats in the game, pay for it with elites, as u should.

Here is what you are saying:

If you want the best Accuracy stats in the game, get a Hero Sailor.

If you want the best Reload stats in the game, get a Hero Sailor.

If you want the best Torpedo stats in the game, get a Hero Sailor.

If you want the best AAW stats in the game, get a Hero Sailor.

If you want the best Repair stats in the game, get a Hero Sailor.

If you want the best Restore stats in the game, get a Hero Sailor.

If you want the best Engine stats in the game, get a Hero Sailor.

If you want the best Aircraft stats in the game, get a Hero Sailor.

If you want the best Fighter stats in the game, get a Hero Sailor.

If you want the best Bomber stats in the game, get a Hero Sailor.

If you want the best Potential stats in the game, get an Elite Sailor.

One of these things is not like the others...

Let's take your suggestion at face level and agree on an uber-Potential Hero sailor.  

Then you decide to class him as a Sonarman or Planesman, along with all of your other Hero-class sailors;  Torps, guns, engineers, whatever.

So you've got the most awesome of subs prowling the sea lanes.  But I've got bad news for you...the difference between your uber-sonarman and a regular rolled 14+ sonarman is trivial.  The planesman difference might net you a quicker recharge, but gulping an extra 3 or 4 seconds of air during much needed air recharge session is pretty trivial too.  Also, a few extra vets/experts easily covers any difference the growth will provide.

For me, I'd use the Hero sailor as a Seaman that would provide high Ftr and Bmbr stats for my CVs.  I could see him as a Super Engineer; but would be a waste on most other slots.

Sailor performance should be the players' choice. The difference between in game sailors and elite sailors is a miniscule 120 ability, but people still prefer elites over in game sailors. The difference between all stats going from elite sailors to hero sailors is 120 ability, except for the potiential.

It makes sense to increase the potential stat to 17. The increases should be equal across the board. Take all elite stats and add 1. The result should be the stats for the Hero Sailor.

Medics, Sonarman, Planesman, Landing Forces, and Airlift Forces would all benefit.
