Really bored with the current ss. Any idea about the new eSS?

They should add a slot in BB just for anti sub sailor. Or re formulate the crew configuration so people can fight against subs!

Agree partially. Subs didn´t killed the game, the lack of ASW ships do it.

Next "e" ship genuis idea, flying dutch, which can dive and been more undetectable than subs.

Subs rock.  Believe I had the first IJN SS5 and recall the reaction it gleaned.  Worked great until ghosting kicked in, but even that was easy to foil.  People complain but the most important ship in a battle group is the CV, for sight etc. and sonar, a solid sonarman, is indispensable.  Combining a CV and SS in a group gives vision beyond comparison.  Yes, the shortage of ASW ships greatly contributes to battle failures due to subs.

a couple of reasons I'm not for an ESS:

1) lack of sonar/planesmen available on the trade system.

A low level sonarman in an ESS (4.5) would require an SSII FCS, or about Lev75.

2) Too many inexperienced submariners pretending to know what they're doing, while staffing their ships with BB supports.

(Remember: Those inexperienced subs can be assigned to your side during autosplit. IF there are two subs, and one is a KM SS5.5 and the other is an ESS 4.5 with an inexperienced crew....You'd better hope you're on the KM SS's side.)

Why I might be for it:

1) If the ESS was a 4.5 Lev 70, and was competitive with SS5 abilities, it would be a decent jump without having to suffer through SS3 and SS4 levels.  If the ESS was a 3.5 Lev 55 (with SS4 capabilities), it would help bypassing the meaningless/useless/ineffective/deathtraps referred to as SS1 and SS2.

As with all Event series ships, they should be no greater than the top-tier BB6.

ASW ships weren't the problem. The bility for submarines to kill ASW ships far, far easier than ASW ships could kill subs is the problem.

A submarine can counter it's counter easier than it's counter can counter it.

That is the defintion of imbalance.

We called this back in ONF1/2. And then we were told that submarines were none of our business.

Literally. That's what they said.

So now you've got a game with 500 players during peak times. Enjoy it. Go over to the World of Tanks forums and ask any ex-NF player why they quit. You will hear "submariens" with startling regularity.

subs are not the problem the lack of a stable game is

the lag mid game crashing and the deysinc thas the problem

the new EBB did not help the ebb5 is better then the bb6 that makes for unballanced splits

as for the ESS it realy dos not make alot of difference if there comming or not the overall skill for the ss in game is not that high

as for the lack of suports in the trade if u are a sub player u don't buy a ecv or ebb

so there for if your a bb/cv player u just don't buy the ess

then the lack of ASW the good asw players can kill anny ss the bad asw just complain about the op ss

the totall problem is the lack of exp made by the asw and ss the exp is just to low to lvl somthing using asw ships

Well, I wouldn't say that SS killed the game, but they did certainly CHANGED the game... or better said, they SHOULD change the player mindset.

For starters, traditional BB crew setups should change. Old-school 6/4 (engineers/repairers) setups are now outdated, and at least one space has to be allocated to an (P)HH gunner (one is more than enough from my experience); in my case, a repairer is gone.

If AA gunners are already in place their function now has to be two-folded or entirely different. If your ship has "enough" T slots you could use some of them for AA guns and others for (P)HH guns, using different binds for different shells; i.e., Bind A for AA shells, Bind B for (P)HH shells so as not to mess your shots; SS incoming, press Y (plus F4 for gradual), SS gone, press Y again (plus F4 for max) so you keep on taking planes down. If your ship does not have "enough" T slots then you should consider entirely changing your AA gunners' role to permanent ASWers with (P)HH guns.

Naturally it is far more difficult to defend your BB from SS attacks if you can't actually see them. To depend on FFs, DDs, SSs, or other ships with sonar is not a safe bet since there could be none around or their sonar could deactivate at crucial times due to OH. Therefore, another mindset has to be changed and that is the use of an escort with an active sonar, either built-in or with sonarman on board. Not too many people are fond of the use of an escort but it could be your lifesaver. Besides more burden will be on your shoulders since you have to be aware of your escort position in the heat of the battle to avoid it from being taken down by either friendly or enemy fire but it is worth since that sonar capability can help you land much more precise (P)HH shots to take down those pesky subs. You could use a cheap FF if you dont want to be too focused on preserving it or you could use an Emden with AA + sonarman.

As for CVs something around the lines of BBs as expressed above is the change they should adapt to. To preserve a valuable support slot, a sonarman should be on an escort and since CVs are usually at the back they shouldn't worry much about where their escorts are wandering around.

In the end, I do not fear subs; i actually really hope they come south where I always go as I really do enjoy sinking them! (provided my escort is still alive :)

===> I do fear to enter a room and then CRASH when almost ready to start, or when at the battle ready logo, or when the battle actually begins, or whenever it wants to crash! I do fear to get LAGGED midgame and have my guns jump all over the place, or get my screen frozen for 15 seconds only to find I'm in the middle of nowhere shells flying towards me, or to suddenly get the infamous DISCONNECT message. Man do i fear to realize I'm in a DESYNC'd room and suddenly everyone crashes but me and a lone enemy CV in the far opposite corner of the map.

==============> Those 4 LCDD NF devils are the REAL game KILLERS: Lag, Crash, Desync, Disconnect! SSs are just a small blemish in comparison.
