I have to say after testing both new naval games this weekend, I was very dissapointed in the game play of both.

If I want to point and click I might as well just play a facebook game.

I think SDE should just take this game down for awhile and just redo it. This way they can fix all the broken code by making it in a new updated code.

The other 2 games I tested graphics were alot better (One of them was outstanding as far as graphics go), but the game play for both was just awful.

I dont think these companies understand that the game play is way more important than the graphics.

Even today the NF1 game play outshines these new games by light years. Too bad SDE just doesnt understand that.

I know it wasnt the question, but I think it is important that we make sure SDE knows that we are willing to start over. As Ultra_Dog said, SDE dosnt seem to think it is a profitable investment. Because of this and the bad experience with SDE there is also another option. We  buy the program via crowd funding ;)

There's a post by mfischer in another section that says a bit about his own attempt to invest into NF. You can't buy if the other person won't sell. And seriously, crowdfunding with the current "MeMeMeGimmeGimme" crowd? Lastly, if people want their accounts transferred to a new version of NF1, that is a clear signal to SDE that they are NOT willing to spend money.

wow this is nothing you guys are nothing at all

 

1st everything they done something goes wrong note everything now the problem is not the game its the people who hundle the game

cant you see what happen last event or you guys forget easyly and think they can be better if they do that or do this as what you think

this people are the 1 need to be change not the game

now look at NF2  thats what they done its new with less players thats why not yet a problem wait till it can have more than 80players in 1 room

imagine the crash exist 10 years ago and sometimes its gettting worst

Maybe I am a dreamer but I am proud of it :P You are right about the strange attitude of the community and about the diffculties to buy the code. But if you think it is impossible then it is impossible. I like to think there is always another option.

Do you mean this from mfischer:

"If SDenternet had the source code I would buy this game and fix it."

It sounds like the problem is somewhere else ;) Your last point I didnt get. Why shouldnt SDE invest when we say we want start new?

sde don't have the source code.

Any rebuild would be from scratch.

I know as I tried to get it from them as a sale several years ago and it fell over early when I asked if they had it anf the "owners" said no.

They code baggage arroung the game engine.

Thus why HA etc has never been fixed.

Yeap sloppy management.

I run several professional dev and infustructure teams.

Details , Documentation, UAT and sign off...none of this applys to SDEnternet.

They own...well some code ouside of the game engine and the sql 2000 DB customisations they have been forced to do to get some of the "new" code to work.

Yes thats right MS sql2000 server.

NF1 but with NF2 graphics... thats all these people had to do. None of this research a ship bull crap... NF2 retarded plan and simple. I mean you cant trade sailors, no HQ its a crap game.

Lawl, let's get back to reality. They don't read it and even when they do it they know better than the playerbase. Just like it has always been. Sorry about the crushed dreams :P
