traditionally and verifiable, the 'winter event's usually start dec. 1-7 and end jan. 5-10.
i am guessing that because of steam event ending about that time, and its already the 20th Dec. , that the Christmas event will be a short version of previous years' Winter events
by any standards, it is 2 weeks late, however...if SDE is smart...they will just run it up to the
time of the spring event , where they usually get the newest event ships involved, and give people a reason beyond insane repetition to keep playing, reach lvl 125 get your first BB5 do whatever it is that you started .
everybody that plays needs some incentive from SDE to rejuvenate the game, keep the steam peoples' ships playing, and returning players returning with maybe a couple buds they had on email from an old fleet.
let me repeat this please INCENTIVE .
it has not even snowed here...a Christmas event will have to start before the 25th, so how about friday the 22nd Dec. to 1/2/2018 or thereabouts....
let's say the Winter event starts friday the 22nd or tuesday the 26th and runs to tuesday 1/23/18.
one year they did NF Academy from 1/24 to around 2/14. at another time an 'event ship' event, which ram 3/10-4/7 , actually making it possible to get the latest invention (or maybe EBB 6.5-7/ECV 6.5-7) .
they ran simultaneous events in the fall of 2016 from mid september to late october and followed immediately by a 5 day halloween event-a full month and a half minus 2 days.
the newest EBBs/ECVs are unaffordable to most , when they have been available, which has been very rare. THEY WERE AVAILABLE THAT FALL, ALONG WITH NEVER-SEEN-AGAIN 120 neutS, sANTA SAILORS, SUPER ELITES, AND A DICE EVENT THAT PAID PRETTY GOOD PRIZES, AND A DECENT, not wonderful, DROP RATE. WITH WEEKLY RESETS, SO GETTING ONE AND STARTING ON ANOTHER IN A WEEK OR TWO PLUS ALL THE PERK SAILORS PLUS GRADIATED BONUSES. i am guessing maybe 200 people played at least 1 game. about 50 or so of us 'banked' everything from experts, which all the new guys desperately need, to smoke bombs (hehe) to endless PHH to enough santa sailors to run an entire EBB6 AND a PremSS...
if SDE wants to go from 'baby steps' to 'big boy britches' they better keep the folk they have and get the ball rolling again with some INCENTIVE. that is just exactly how it is.
