So torp cap is 1.006M (@ live server?)? Atm my torpman (lvl77, 110 vets, 200??? experts) has 840k TA. How many seconds is the difference? I have U-Flak.

Torpedo ability cap for SN SS5 is a bit higher than 1.006 mil TA, today I tested it and it seems it's in between 1.006 mil and 1.01 mil TA, so i kept my SN torpers at 1.01 mil TA.

patch 1.330, SN SS5.

I just did some tests on Kaiser server using these sailors
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/263/torpf.png/

The one on the left was the control sailor and the one on the right was the test sailor. I used the KM SS4 with control sailor in the front and test sailor in the rear (method similar to Invinciblor).

With 95 recruits on test sailor (True Ability of 1,004.559*), the control sailor reloaded slightly faster.
With 96 recruits on test sailor (True Ability of 1,007,281*), both sailors loaded simultaneously.

* I can't find Adelbert's post anymore so my formula might be wrong...
True_Ability = (experts + 4 * vets) * displayed_ability * total_crew / max_crew ????

I reduced the recruits on my test sailor to 35 (so as to roughly match the true ability on yours - 841,216). The difference in reloading was about 2 seconds (timed using the stopwatch on my phone - so totally inaccurate).

you calculated true ability correctly, true ability formula = (((4 * veterans number) + experts number) * ((total crew / max crew) * displayed ability)) / 1mil

Torpedo true ability reload cap mentioned by aldabert is ~850k, it was stated in this topic, that it's outdated.
It was also stated that before SS5 release, torpedo true ability cap was 1.006mil.
After SS5 release i found out with my SN SS5, that new torpedo true ability cap is ~1.01mil.

also should be interesting for you, how to calculate weight of a sailor:
when on ANY, none submarine ship = total crew * 0.5
when on SUBMARINE = total crew * 0.06

EDIT,
by my calculations your control torper weights 36.78 tons and other 22.14 tons on a sub. Very strange...

Guys are you considered the possibility that the "seemingly new" torpedo cap is caused by the fact that you have to BOOST your sailor?

In my asian NF forum it says boosting your torp man gives you 10% extra reload time reduction, which means
1) If your torp man is NOT boosted, the torp reload time is 50% of the default reload time
2) If your torp man IS boosted, the torp reload time will be 40% of the default reload time

As a matter of fact, 850k*1.2 = 1.02m, which is very close to the "new" cap you guys found out out there.
