Sonar has nothing to do with SS FCS. The FCS controls how accurate your salvos are and how far out your ship can see through the "fog". Only sonar can see subs.

The game won't allow you to mount PHH on an escort. Also, "bugs" aren't what stops the escort from shooting, its the capability level of the BO thats mounted on it.

Last time I checked, the planes that do the camping are T4s and I believe that they can move a lot faster than a CV can. Also, if the fighters are camping over you in the first place, it means that your fighters can't beat them! Thus, the only way to clear the deck is to drive away, and wait (meaning that as a CV you're failing and the enemy gets sight) or to shoot them down with AA
I'm trying hard to be nice, but I don't understand why you are giving advice in the forums when you don't realize that escorts can't mount HH and that there is such a glaring difference between XP between Auto and Aiming, or that SS FCS can't automatically detect subs only sonar can. Before you start posting advice, you should at least have some practical knowledge of your own. New people do come in here and it isn't right to send them down the wrong path.
