Hello my NF friends,

I've decided to create a NF wiki for all kind of information related to NF.
So far I have built up a wikia and I want it to fill it up with all related things, like nation, ship lists, keywords, explanations,  description  of every ship and so on.

The wiki is now available on www.navyfieldwiki.com or as for now https://navyfield.bplaced.net/. The domain navyfieldwiki is now setting up for the wiki, so it will be soon available
under this domain.

Currently I am searching for some supporters who volunteers to fill up those sites.
As for now everyone can submit a page under no moderation and I hope some of you will participate to complete this project.

This wiki should cover all kind of topics, e.g.
What is a Tier?
What are the pros and cons of every BB/CV/SS?
Which nation is the best in what?
What is the meaning of HH, HA, C&G and so on.
Range comparisons.
Why should we use these torps in GB and not others?
What are the Golden Angles and where can I find the golden angle for my AA?

Of course there is a lot more information to submit.

So, I hope you will help me a little to complete the project, so we have a cool wiki for everyone.

Greez

"The main focus of the CV should be to repeal incoming enemy planes ie. Scouts, fighters, and bombers, so that it gives you a chance to launch a counter strike towards the enemy ships. In turn by scouting with your planes you can give sight to your own capital ships so that the enemy is always visible and you will not be taken by surprise."

This needs taking out IMO. Its not a cv's job, a cv is a utility ship. It can do everything with its planes, but not as well as a dedicated ship, therefore a cv doesnt have a "job" per se; people just expect it and rage when a cv doesnt scout with fighters. If the driver of the cv sucks at everything cv related, thats a different story.

Back on topic: if you do it, make it worth it for me to go there instead of trainworld.us or the forums; otherwise it becomes a liability. Maybe add reccomended gun setups (at least for the bigger ships, but preferably most) etc.

@Lukas, yes I admit a few of these points have changed, this was written a little over a year ago in Nov/Dec '10. Somethings can change and I do plan on asking to do an update on this when I can get time to work on it. The national advantages/disadvantages were given to me by email to write up for the page so I was going off information handed to me.

@Happymeal2, If you look up in that same paragraph you will notice that I said, CV play is different varying from player to player, and from game to game. This is a suggested type of CV usage, however it is not the only one, and it is just a basic guideline on how to play. It was not meant to be an advanced game play guide.

Either way this is just, like I said, a basic outline of information for NF. You can use it if you want, if you don't it's fine.

Why type them in different languages...

Just add the google translate plugin. Type in one language then uses can select the shown language at will.

I don't remember it on the old site, and I honestly don't think any of what I pointed out as being misleading was correct in Nov/Dec '10.

The most useful thing you could do is compile all the guides/data tables from the old forums.

It would be nice to see commentary on ship/nation advantages/roles and stuff like that instead of just the basic facts/stats you can get from trainworld. I always see little bits of this on the forum of people saying how this ship is better than that because of this .etc. A wiki is very good for this: if you disagree with something, you can change/discuss it.

I can assist you in writing the sections for the Marine Nationale.
I can also assist you with image/logo/spr related items.

PS: I am able and willing to do video commentaries on any/all ships/sailors/setups and nations that you wish ;)
PPS: Your ship submission form is not detailed enough, if you'd like a format with more detail, pm me.

Do you really want people to know about editing .spr files?

Only registered and authorized users of NGP have access to the needed program to extract the SPRs.
And Yes, I do, custom content in NF is great.

Lol, I've got the programme and I sure as hell didn't get it from NGP. I can freely host it and make it available for anyone.
