  • Need help with IJN CV, I totally screwed up

    01. 15. 2012 18:12

Issan
I'll try to make this as simple as I can: I quit NF a year or two ago because I always had that 10minute frozen screen but still sound lag.
Anywho, I managed to totally screw over my CV, which is the only thing I went for. I was being stupid
and never before playing the game, didn't care and messed everything up. Now the lag stopped and,
not being overrun by school anymore, can play. I'd like to know what I can do to help fix up my problems
and become a good CV because frankly, I am really, really bad.
I currently have a Ryujo with:
level 53 Operator ( yellow nametag)
level 50-ish TB
leve 50-ish Elite DB (gift from friend)
level 50-ish FP
Sorry, cba to post the fine details on each person, but if requested, will post.
Anyway, if anyone can suggest what I should to do help me in my quest for getting actually decent at CV
please post away with your own suggestions or any useful guides to steer me into a clear path.
Problems I am having:
-Slow plane loading time, where others get planes up in 10 seconds
-Can only load 7 planes at a time ( dunno if this is default or something I am missing )
-DB rarely hit target, tried manual and automatic DBing
-TB rarely hit target, always get shot down
-I don't really know what to do with my fighter pilots...

Any help is VERY appreciative, and sorry for the long post! I am actually very serious and am not
some new person with one line of text asking for some help in some foreign language, unreadable
by a human being.
And if anyone is wondering, I also have a Mogami 1944 I think with some gunners but again totally screwed up
so I don't know what to do with it anymore.

~Thanks for reading this extremely long post,
Issan

I'd like to point out that 27 deg is used by 6.1" A guns,
The NLD versions use angles 31-32

I hope you made a mistake writing potential. Your bomber pilots (TB/DB) should have at least +11 in
bomber and your fighter +12. Potential has nothing to do with pilots.
Lately I've seen sailors in trade window advertising their main stat (example accuracy) and the potential
is listed as well. I'm not sure why this and who started it but there is so much misinformation out there.

Your ideal CV crew should look like:

1 Bridge Officer
4-6 Fighter Pilots (you want high aircraft and fighter skill.)
4-6 Dive Bombers (you want high aircraft, bomber isn't necessary.)
1-2 Seaman (aim for high aircraft, they'll boost your over-all crew.)
2 (Optional) Gunners (For Anti-Sub guns. Stats don't need to be BB great.)

From my understanding the Aircraft stat increases your survivablility in the air.
I'd also recommend you buy some expert and vet packs, and boost your fighters as well. (50 olives each.)
If you take those steps your fighters should be able to hold their own around level 70-80+.
For now use local fighters since Japan has sub-par fighters.

When playing: Load up two seperate squads at once, such as a group of 3 fighters and 4 fighters. This way you're giving your team sight and protection early on. Continue loading and launching fighters in groups of 7. Load some dive bombers once you or your fellow CVs have domination in the sky. Bomb whatever BB or CV is in yellow health or smoking. It'll be a lot more effective if they're currently injured.

Hope this all helps. And if anyone wants to add, I'm not sure if more than 1 Seaman has any benefits.

1. No, you don't want high aircraft, only fighter.
2. No, you don't want high aircraft, Bomber is the only thing necessary.
3. Proof?
4. No it doesn't.

As for the Aircraft part, you can go ahead and fly some fighters that are 12 Fighter, 8 Aircraft and see where your planes land.

I'm not questioning that seamen do work, I'm questioning the part with the aircraft stat.

Since one patch, fighter stat works only for fighters, bomber stat only for bombers, aircraft for scouts. Before that bomber stat played a role how durable any plane was, but that was two years ago. Not anymore. So even then the aircraft part was nonsense.
Please don't spread false information and tell the person where you got that from to stop spreading nonsense.
