Have you tried re-installing hackshield? I know theirs an update exe at

..\SD EnterNET\NavyFIELD\HShield\HSUpdate.exe

Maybe running that will replace some missing files?

Theirs also a

..\SD EnterNET\NavyFIELD\HShield\Update\autoup.exe

file that seems to actually install any hackshield patchs - so perhaps that might help as well.

That might be the game loading - if the game files are highly fragmented it could take some time.

I know it takes about 5 seconds for the black screen to fade to one of the first images (and then after that it's speedy).

No. There's an error message saying there was an error in the hacking protection thing.

Are you able to get it to run if you restart the Launcher, does it d/l files?

Any details in the error message? Some kind of error code or anything helpful?

Also, what kind of anti-virius/anti-malware/firewall programs are you running?

An error has occurred with the hack prevention function (Error Code = 204) program is shutting down.

I'm using avast internet security.

Somebody else is having this problem in another thread. Try this out, see if it works:

1) Disable avast! and ANY firewall you have.
2) go to ..\SD EnterNET\NavyFIELD\HShield\
3) DELETE the "Update" Folder
4) Run the ..\SD EnterNET\NavyFIELD\HShield\HSUpdate.exe program.

You'll notice the box in the upper left appear like navyfield is loading.
TWO things can happen here:

- It stays stuck on two bars and doesn't update
- it updates

If it updates, go to ..\SD EnterNET\NavyFIELD\HShield\Update\autoup.exe and run that. Try the game, it should work fine now!

If it stays stuck on two bars, that means it *can't connect to the update server* and we can address the problem from there. (or it's something else that i've been thinking of)

I am getting the same problem as PimpinPSP
I have done what you told me on top, but the game still closes.
The update was able to finish and when I went to run the game. The game crashes when the screen turns black.
