Class immediately as reload gunners->Heavy Rld Gunners ->Huge reload gunners. Unlike UK, there is no ability nerf on USN Gunners classing.
Rld gunners classing is simply not boosting the acc ability, without nerfind it.
USN uses regular gunners to AA, therefore you keep access to the HH option, and overall the guns the dedicated AA are in my opinion the lesser cousins of their regular counterpart. What they save in weight and space, they make you pay in range, and sailors ability.
Every single useful stat get nerfed on AA gunners, effectively forcing you to delay classing for a very long time. A time where all BBs you get through have good AA potential as far as their T-slot goes.
Even if you did prefer fast firing, shorter ranged guns, the gunners handling them just aren't worth the sacrifice.
