I put two pairs of high level AA gunners (reached reload cap) on the ship:

R-slots:  KM40 with practically infinite ammo. Great for taking out target at longer distance. Due to the large amount of ammo space I keep spamming the gun to scare enemy planes away.

T-slots:  3.46" duals. If any CV has the audacity to fly close, I switch to my 3.46" to spam shell at insane rate of 0.32 second per shot. 10 barrels firing at 3 shots per second is very very effective regardless of your skill in aimming.

I put 3 engineers on support slots to give myself 37 seconds of overheat at 53 knots. I need the burst of speed to chase down planes or to escape from danger.
