Had a player who was confused and slightly frustrated about information from the website referring to the AAW stat vs what actually occurs in-game. I told him I would get an update and I think it is worth putting here as well for our info:

The AAW Function on sailors is partially active at the moment. It does not help with operating manual. Manual AA is derived from the gun specs and mainly the reload and accuracy statistics of the guns. However, the automatic anti-air gun from the ship is boosted by the AAW abilities so you are more likely to get an automatic shootdown with good AAW stats on board.

The chief NF designer has been working on this to further improve the AAW effect on both manual and auto AA and will continue to do so.
