As someone pointed out, the war in Europe was more lost by Germany than won by the allied nations, Hitlers frustration at being unable to gain air supremacy of Great Britain halted his ambitions there, so he redirected his army back to the fast land war tactics they were so brilliant at and turned East, but without the needed resources and long range bombers it was doomed from the start. If his ambitions had been smaller perhaps Germany would be larger today? Perhaps it would have extended the war longer into the atomic era and the end result for Europe much worse. He would have used these weapons on Great Britain to force there surrender eventually.
The US main contribution to the war in Europe was raw materials etc. But that was not free of charge items ^^ The military assistance just sped up the end to the war. And god bless America for this.
