Whether you were for or against subs in the beginning and/or are still now, sad to say that the time has come to give the sub-haters in this game what they want.  Scrap the lines, and rebuild/rebalance ALL tiers for ALL nations.  The S5's are a downgrade and than their previous tier...for ALL nations.  The turn force, speed, and reload times are far worse than any tier 4 that can be named.  Personally, my long wait has ended in utter dissapointment.

Just scrap 'em SDE.   YOU FAILED!

Personally I'm going for the Gato, just have to find my US SS4 crew in my HQ and level it.

To start with SS5's weren't even going to be in the game. Be happy there's another set of ships to play with. I think SS5 is definitely a step up, more DP and more support slots has a much bigger impact on performance.

This is a familiar scenario, remember when the KM CVs got replaced by US CVs as the strongest fighters? KM CV players complaining, at least with a good reason (some had spent a lot of money on KM fighter crews). Since the heavy sub users only have to vet up 3 crew members, I'm sure you could just level up a US sub. :)

Maybe its just me but I am liking the KM SS5, I see it as a nice step up for the KM line.

I will say it requires a bit more planning and thinking rather than spraying torps all over.

I have not used my IJN SS5 so not sure how it is.

I started cleaning the thread, but there are just too many personal attacks and insults. Specially from the OP, who has gotten too emotional in the debate.

This will go nowhere productive, but it still has some interesting comments from some people, so I'll just lock it instead of binning it... only to preserve those 2 or 3 useful comments for a future calmed and rational debate.
