This country's tension has been like a coiled spring for a long time now, it was only a matter of time before this happened again.

Its actually more like idiots trying to cause trouble.

Scumbags who are using the shooting of Mark Duggan as an excuse to cause public disturbances, loot and commit arson in London. The police don't want to be too aggressive for fear of the same thing happening during the 2010 student protests. Kettling should be brought in to contain the rioters.

I'd like to see a rioter talk about his rights when he's being kettled.

Opportunistic scum who as always leach off the majority of the population and use social issues as an excuse to cause damage and theft while the rest of us have to pay for it.

Seems to be a lot of younger people, who have practically no prospects. The employment rate for these demographics in these areas is very low, coupled with cuts to social programs and the trippling of university tuition fees has left these people in a awful position.

I'm not saying that these riots are justified, but this unrest has been building for a while. The media coverage has also been very sensationalist (as usual), and has only poured more fuel on the fire. Obviously the loot is disgusting and police should be doing more.

That's a fair assumption to make had it stayed in one small area of London, but these copy cat riots that have occurred in Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, Bristol and other areas are just cases of absolute morons destroying their own towns and cities.
