the level 20's are nice AA for range, then you get to the level 62 5.1 quads with a GA of 35 that can
both aa as well as shoot small ships that get in range.. the plus/minus to the 62's is it has a lot
shorter range that can shoot down scouts/DBs/TBs that made it past the lv 20 GA range..
even better is you can fit the 20's in the t-slots for first range and switch to the R-Slots and cover
once they are to close for the 20's..

anyone who thinks MN AA is useless hasn't played using AA or are not good at AA'ing plain and
simple.

french has great AA as of now i dont know why your complaining...

I mean for personal defense, because as I stated the level 20 duals can be mounted on
almost any ship (BB) for AA, but their low GA forces you to react very early to a
potential plane threat... and if you watch your shells while fighting the enemy, incoming
planes will most likely have already passed the death zone of the 3.5"s by the time you
notice them... and then its hard to fight them off, because the reload is not as good as
the IJN low GA AA guns' reload.
So I find them very good for sniping scouts and for ships that see AA as one major(or as
their only) role.

um...what?

While the AA capabilities of the BBs are limited, the options on CLs and CAs are great.
4xR-Slots with tripple or even quad guns (low ammo though) offer a great firepower and its
really fun to use... on smaller ships you can pick scouts or incoming bomber waves from
very far with the level 20 duals... for personal protection MN does not offer good
choices... low GA means range... but also means you have to react very early to get a good
shot... and mostly you notice incoming planes too late for most MN guns to get them in the
GA... at least if you do other things than AA as well...

Well then the French on the Bismark server are not taking advantage of one of the only
good things about their ships.

Try the Bretagne. Not only is it my vote for best BB1 in the game, but it's AA setup is
KILLER.

That's a lie, the BB3 can mount quad AA guns in the rear T slots, and the BB4 gets the
same AA capacity as the BB5. It is the only reason why the BB4 is usable, lord knows the
BB4 for the MN needs some help.

The AA for the Lyon and Paris is not bad either, the only down side are their very limited
arcs of fire, but their T slots are great for HH launchers.

And all of the cruisers and DD's can AA as well.

In short the French can AA pretty much from lvl 20 on, and all of their BB's have usable T
slots for either AA or HH.

AA it's good but you only use it from the BB5 up.

That means you only use it in the BB5 :)
