I play an MN SS and I was hoping for some advice. I am in an SS1 and was hoping I would get some tips and
tricks, because after sinking an Iowa and an H39 I only got like, 3k xp. Before you ask, they were still at full
dp.

"Just to get an idea...I grinded from level 1 to SS4 in 3 days using an emden. 1 level

I'm sorry but I'm going to refute validating your statement. Up until a certain point
you cannot achieve one level per battle even if you are in the ECL Emden. Not to
mention that you need more than 3 days to level from 1 to 76 using an ECL due to
the exp hit that occurs 9 levels above the ship level (27).

"With the MN CL with AA hitting atleast 1 scout u can get to 20K or even 30K if you
do
well. while with SS1 or even SS2 you need to do lots of damage and great games to
get
the 30K."

That is on a win with the enemy flag in GB2 sunk. You would not even come that
close exp wise if that occured on a general loss or a GB2 flag loss. Also with the
spread and pattern of French AA guns in general you need high level AA gunners
with great reload stats to be able to AA to a SS2 as that is the way I skipped past
the SS1 after trialling it in a few battles and evaluating it.

"With AA you get a more constant high amount of exp. I reached up to 70K once exp
in
emden thanks to noob max altitude FPs ^^."

While this may be true that you would get more exp in the average in contrast to
playing the MN SS1 or SS2 in the end it all depends on the victory/defeat conditions
and whether the counterattack was sucessful or GB2 FLAG SUNK(OPFOR/BLUFOR)
flags were met.

Level an Elite Boosted Engine sailor to get extra speed in higher levels. MN SS2 has an awesome
grouped (simultaneous fire) attack that can easily take out bb1,2,3. My tactic is to target them, and
fire off as many torp volleys as i can before sinking.

Also, when I put a gunner on board, my deck gun was causing 800-1000 DPS. Can anyone else
confirm this?!?

i got all 5 ss4's
personally i would skip ss1... lvl ur crew on the CL before till ss2...
once in ss2, play a defensive line, stay round the front lines and attack anything that
comes in range... the mn ss3 i dont think much of, but ss4 is alot of fun, small to :D

I have the other 4 ss4's and for my MN I am going straight to the SS3. the grind up to
that in a ss1 or even 2 is painfully slow. my advise is go to the ss3. and since the
nerfed all torps you do not get the good exp any more

"If all you want is level, then the best way to do this is in the CL with AA. SS's gain
very few exp. per battle."

I disagree with this statement in part. I am currently driving the SS3 Redoutable and
with a decent or good game with the SS3 I am able to net about 30k average on a win
which isn't that bad to be honest. The exp in an SS1-2 though is exponentially worse
but the step up from an SS2-SS3 is massive. I'm really looking forward to getting my
Argonaute.

However I will admit that I did not grind out with the SS1 to the SS2. I played a few
battles with the SS1 and realized that its role as a coastal submarine would protract
the amount of battles needed to get the SS2. Therefore I used the Lvl 32 Dugay Trouin
to AA to the SS2 from the SS1. It did help to level faster with my BB5/6 supports and my
BB5/6 gunners.

Best way to play in SS12 is wait for enemy SS to get to your enemy line and defend
your team BB's against enemy SS. Once you succesfully defended your teamates
against SS's(use shift-f1 to see the amount of enemy SS left), only then you can try
and get to the enemy line. To do this yo need to constantly see where the enemy ss
are on the other line.

You can go to the south or north moving verticaly up then moving from the center of
the CENTER and NORTH/SOUTH(center north/south). With SS you need to play with
patience and plan out your strategy beforehand.

"Also go up the middle in battle, don't go up the north or south. You don't have
enough air time to go up north or down south."

Why would you submerge to go south or north?

I disagree with Elliot2lazy on going center. Center usually has lots of cl, dd's and ff's
that can kill you easily. Not only that, they are really fast and small targets making it
hard to kill them. Not only that, center sometimes has no BB. Thus, going south or
north then move on to the enemy line from centernorth or centersouth is the best
option.

If you are killed, stay in the room untill your team kills the enemy flag before exiting.

If all you want is level, then the best way to do this is in the CL with AA. SS's gain
very few exp. per battle.

The XP in ss1 is not very good at all I find ss2 is better but not by a lot. Try not to hit
your own team at all. Lol and get hits not splash damage. Also I seam to get more
xp if i am showing up ship that get sunk by other players.

I'm skipping the SS1 simply by using the Dugay Trouin and AAing past the SS1 to the
SS2. Therefore It would also be advisable to avoid or skip past the SS1 as it simply
cannot do much at that tier. The SS2 will be a major step up from the SS1 and that
extra 20ish seconds of air you gain is well worth it.
