What is the best level to turn my armament sailor into DP gunners?
Currently, my armament sailor is 80 level (Elite BVE)...did the reload ability reach the
max already or should i wait longer?

Pegleg's Answer is perfect.

Final Answer never convert until Level 62 and the longer you wait all the way up to Level 120
the lighter the DP Sailor will be.

Yamato at 89 and Super Yamato at 103 use AA, before that you can use your unclassed DP
Gunners to use Hedge Hogs, (Gradual to set range - then Simul)

If you can have your DP Gunners on more than One Ship Leveling, you can get their Level
higher than your BB Crew. I put them on my BB Crew, then move them to my EBB second Crew,
then to ISE CVE. They are 104 now while my BB Crew Supports are 83 and pre-Yammy.

There are actually similar crew growth issues for KM AA gunners. I think we need to
compiles a more complete crew growth listing than is in Obst's guides.

Please see Longrooster's stickied thread on this.

The longer you wait to class as DP gunners, the:
a) longer you have an awesome set of Armament Sailors for launching hedgehogs

b) the sooner that AA sailor will hit the reload cap - however you are talking just a
couple of levels sooner. This all changed a lot when the reload cap was raised, ie
the reload cap was now set to 40% of the listed reload time for the gun instead of
50%. The only thing is that that extra 10% doesn't really mean _that_ much with an
aa gun (which is already quick to reload). You are talking a tenth of a second. And it
takes 20% more true reload ability to get to. I still look in terms of true reload ability
to get to 50% reload.

c) The lighter a given DP Sailor is for a given level of true reload ability. There is a
bug in the IJN DP gunner tree in that the DP Gunner should get one more sailor per
level, given its tier, than it does get. So that is an added bonus to wait. For every
ten levels waited, you save the weight of 30 sailors.

d) You must have AA gunners on the Yammy.

Lighter is not always better.

There are other Threads that talk about this.

Do not class them until you are going to use them. at 89 or 103 or 120
Yamato / Super Yamato / 120

Mine are currently 104 and unclassed I have them on my BB then on my Second BB then on my
ISE CVE.

89 is fine, they get lighter each Level if you can wait.

if you need them in early time you can change at LV 75+ at least

@above

At lowers levels at least...I don't run AA on my Yamato usually if you ever see me...

s/Yamato/BB with useful AA/ (typically Yamato or B65)

The reload cap is somewhere around 2.5 million true ability (maybe somewhat more), so you
almost certainly aren't there yet. Due to the way AA sailor classing works (lots
displayed reload ability loss, little crew growth), the ideal level is arguably 120. But
a Yamato with AA is so much better than one without, that you should class them as soon as
you start playing that ship.
