  • PBB or EBB1

Alright, so I've been collecting some coins from this event, and have come to a decision.
I already spent my first ten on the Pensa, and have been planning to spend the final
twenty on the New York.

However, something came to my attention today and that was...I'm yet to see a New York in
a battle room despite dozens of Sevas. I have read good things about both ships, but being
that I'm a bit new I was wondering if someone who has played both has a better opinion on
which one is better.

So my question is do I want the Sevas or the New York?

I'm not planning on skipping any of the normal ships. (On the Guam right now) Instead just
want a BB to learn a bit on, and have fun with in the future.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the advice. That will certainly help me plan better!

"With Yorktown and the three slots I was considering 1 reload gunner, the restorer, and
purchasing one L90 TB (and leveling the one TB currently on my roster to a DB). I realize
that you suggested before having either all TBs or DBs, but I like the idea of getting an
AAW immune TB as quickly as possible as I've caught some AA guns sleeping as I'm changing
altitudes and I also like the ability to go after SS. The three DBs do give me plenty of
punch to hit targets and if an SS is in route to me or shows up (I always have DD with
sonar escort) I have something to strike with. Is this a feasible plan?"

The gunslots are pretty useless on YT, too small for much of anything unless you want HH.

As for plane loadout, its all up to you. If you can be effective with it go for it.

"Do you think with my low level limited fighters I should keep just the two pilots for now
as they can't do much more good anyway?"

What do you plan to do? If you want to be an attack CV 2 FP is fine. Keep in mind you
should be planning on 8 pilots total.

"With my increase plan take off capability going from 7 to 8, should I increase the waves
of planes from 3s to 4s?"

Yes though when you hit CV4 3/3/3 is good too.

"With the move coming from Blitz to GB, should I change my DB loadout to AP? Are the bulk
of the ships going to need AP for me to kill them?"

No, AP bombs are useless.

"Finally, with my limited flight force outlined above, how do you reccomend I proceed? Do
I need more or better fighter pilots or should I look at bombers? I've saved up 25 million
towards purchasing pilots thinking about that AAW immune TBs. Another avenue would be
buying and leveling up more Elite/BVE pilots."

Really its all about what you want to do. If you want more fighters leveling them youself
is the only way to go for you. Even with 25mil you will not be able to afford even 1 good
midlevel USN fighter pilot. I myself have enough pilots to be able to do whatever I want.
If I want to FW I can, If I want to BW I can and If I want to do both I can.

Wow you gave it up for 50 million? Thats a lot of $$$ for a L60 ship. As an aside, I
finally found my calling. I'm in love in CVs. I've been playing with that line more than
the other 3 put together. I played for the first time in a CV only battle and I realize
now why you need so many fighters. Also, I've finally got a 2nd DB on my ship and what a
difference that made! At first, I thought have 2 fighter pilots would be enough but after
that CV war experience, there is no way thats going to cut it.

So far, I've been sending up flights of 3 or 4 DBs and when both flights are out, sending
the one of TBs to keep some sort of strike force in route to the targets all the time.
I've experimented with the fighters. Sometimes, I've been keeping Assenders on stand by on
the deck and launching only when I hear "enemy planes in sight!" This way, I can
effectively use locals and limit the annoance of the short fuel. Or, I've been rotating
and trying to constantly keep 3 or 4 Wildcats over my head by warming up the other fighter
when the fuel is low and getting him up.

My set up looks like this:
1 x Seamen L56 (Elite BVE - my pilots are so low level compared to others I need xtra help)
2x Fighter Pilot L52 (Elite BVE)
1x DB L58 (BVE)
1x DB L55 (Elite BVE)
1x TB L53 (Elite BVE)

When I reach Yorktown in five levels, I was going to add:
1x Restore L58 (Elite BVE Due to the pounding that I take I felt this would be a good choice)

In HQ storage, I have
3x Fighter Pilots L55 (plain ole pickups I found cheap at the auction)

My questions for your CV expertise are -

With Yorktown and the three slots I was considering 1 reload gunner, the restorer, and
purchasing one L90 TB (and leveling the one TB currently on my roster to a DB). I realize
that you suggested before having either all TBs or DBs, but I like the idea of getting an

punch to hit targets and if an SS is in route to me or shows up (I always have DD with
sonar escort) I have something to strike with. Is this a feasible plan?

Do you think with my low level limited fighters I should keep just the two pilots for now

Finally, with my limited flight force outlined above, how do you reccomend I proceed? Do I

You have to wait for an event. It is indeed an amazing boat to play with. I really regret
selling mine. 50 mil just wasnt worth giving it up for.

I just got my NewYork today. i got 150K attack and 200K tons sink for the first time i
play EBB1 and i sunk 2BB4 1BB3 and 2CV. 15 angle gun is very easy for arming and fast
reload. though the damage of the bullet is 380 only, but the low angle can make hurt on
side , that is no armored area for most ship. i got experience to sink a full DP IOWA
within 4 salvos.

I wanted to get the NY just for the sake of having it and to occasionally use. The
sevvy can be purchased anytime w/o an event, the NY can't.

if u are still leveling your crew go get pbb, if u just wanna get something money cant buy
and wanna show it off to your frenz then go get the ebb1... in my opinion, ebb1 is not a
good ship for leveling.

I donno...I've used the Sevas and it was pretty decent, much more than the Guam anyways.
Never used the New York so I can't comment on it.

Anyway, as I've already used the PBBs, and got an IJN EBB for the last event, I decided to
go the the "get what money can't buy" approach mentioned above and got a Turtle Ship. But
then again, I'm leveling from BB5 to my first BB6 now...so unless one of the EBBs was as
cool as a BB6, I didn't really need it, and probably wouldn't even use it...

But for the record, my Turtle Ship has be quite amusing as an escort ship, especially
after I get sunk. It pretty much sails straight at the enemy guns a blazing. So I could
have a unique BB with probably less range than I already have which would just frustrate
me in battles, or I could get something just for laughs.

A little known fact, my Turtle Ship is rowed by Chuck Norris, all by himself. And those
aren't shells hitting your ship, it's Chuck roundhouse kicking you so hard his shoes fly
off and travel a mile away to destroy you.

Thanks a lot guys for the feedback. I guess I'll stick to the plan to get the New York.

As I said, I don't plan on skipping any of the normal ships...so the New York will kinda
just be my fun ship.

Thanks again.
